So, when you get people that good at the game vs. that bad at the game it actually screws everyone up.
Bad players who get lucky, get ranked up, good players who get unlucky get screwed.
If you've ever played against an actual smurf from that level of play, you'll understand how awful it is. It's actually totally oppressive to the game and ruins it to the point where it isn't even fun.

It seems to me that that sort of reasoning would make you want the end of season soft reset to be removed entirely, rather than replaced with a hard reset.

If you are in plat, you Will get placed gold 5 or sliver 1-5 nothing is wrong with that, nothing is wrong with challengers getting placed in plat either, are you just salty af cause you have a 52% winrate on your main and are hardstuck silver? If so then WHY are you bothering with this post? It actually makes no sense to start everybody in bronze.
