Why do players still lose LP when someone AFKs in ranked? AFKer should lose everyone's LP for them.

Title.

There's no reason other players ranking should reflect the results of something out of their control such as a teammate AFKing. IMO the AFKer should lose the collective LP of everyone on the team in ranked. Negative reinforcement, plus it would make it a less frustrating experience playing ranked.

I have agreed with this for a long time. NOT ALL the LP, but they should receive a larger than normal amount, and the others should lose 0 (or very little), because the game is no longer balanced once one person goes AFK.

And Riot can just deal with abuse later. Giving a good experience is more important than the few who would abuse.

What about all the accidents that happen to make someone disconnect; storm, parents, animals, emergencies.......

Too abusable. It incentivizes one player to AFK if you're far behind so that the rest will maintain LP instead of just, you know, focusing on recovering and winning.

While I agree with this, there's still a decent number of instances where you can be forced to AFK for a fault beyond your own. Random outages, your ISP being assholes and cutting your connection, Morgana's Q with Ornn's brittle, sudden emergencies, random crashes...

It hardly seems fair to force someone to lose a full division worth of LP for things beyond their control. While a lot of DC's are deliberate, there's still enough that are non-intentional that this wouldn't work.

And, besides, it'd likely encourage trolls to just feed, rather than going AFK, and that's objectively worse.

Why would this not also apply to those 0/10 botlanes?

you would drop an entire elo for one game if that happened tho
