Nobody picks Sona, not even the pros because they know she's underpowered/weak and especially useless as a support. thus, Sona joined the useless club along with Sakura from Naruto and Yamcha from DBZ.

Vicarious1171 votesIn the first naruto series yeah, I'd consider her Yamcha-class, but in shippuden if I remember correctly she did quite a bit consistently. Sure she had that typical anime girl-trope of being too emotional too often, but considering how bad you have to be to be considered equal to Yamcha in DBZ.... I don't think she quite qualifies lol

Never really got into anime other than that but yea I guess xD Yamcha stopped being useful after the first arc from what I heard

In DBZ he showed up like "hey guys, I'm that dude from DB that was totally awesome and I've come to help." He then gets instantly wrecked, dies first, right off the bat against the weakest enemies in DBZ history.
Then later in the series he will make occasional appearances, but it's either so someone can make fun of him or for him to just get dominated by the new enemy all over again.
That's his role now, in all the DBZ and DBGT archs, is to be made fun of and be beaten repeatedly by everyone. That's why I'm not sure I'd consider Sakura on his level, cause that's a very low level lol

There are two, arguably 3, general build-paths for Sona.
Option one (safer route): support itemization. Get a GP5 items and a sightstone. After that Items like Zeke's,Locket, Mikale's, ect. Basically full support build. Does require you to be able to utilize item-actives.
Option 2: AP support itemization. Get a GP5 and a sightstone. After that, you put more emphasis on raw AP items over support items. Zeke's is still a potent option. Deathcap and a Rylias are quite nice. Soulstealer is a viable (powerful even) option IF you can avoid dying. Note: This will not make you a powerful damage source yourself, but the AP ratios on Sona's auras add up when spread throughout your team.
Option 3(questionable): AP nuker. Get a GP5 and a sightstone. This one is questionable simply because Sona is kinda bad at nuking down a target, even when built for that exact purpose. Lichbane and a Luden's is basically the core.
Marthian2 votesIn addition to what JJI744 said, despite what everyone thinks, Ardent Censor is actually very good on her. Her W makes it super easy to apply to the whole team, and if you are a 40CDR build (which there's no reason not to), it will always be up. It also gives her everything she could want: AP, Mana regen, Cooldown, movement speed, and a heal enhancer. And it's pretty cheap too at 2100g. Also 1050g worth of stats (assuming on-hit is valued at 20 ea) is pretty nice and has never been a bad thing (As Miss Fortune can attest, the magic damage is helpful too)
