Are laners gonna take smite and get the new ap jungle item?

^ title.

I dont want Ezreals, Ahris, Leblancs, etc taking smite, buying this enchantment and being super obnoxious and making an new OP/Meta out of no where.

From what it looks like it is a jungle version of Ludens Echo, it even has a unique passive with a different name than Ludens passive meaning it would be possible to have 2 Luden procs and make your burst and aoe insane. Also with the massive % movement speed if people do in fact do this and stack these items how will you be able to deal with someone that has 20% movement speed and either red or blue smite to wreck you with.

Yeah I am screaming OP even though ive only seen the notes on the PBE but new jungle items can cause this. We saw it with Runeglaive EZ, Cinderhulk top laners, and even some Devourer laners...

if they have smite, they don't have ignite

In any case, I wouldn't worry about it too much

Release Rune glaive was problematic on Ez. Part in due to the fact that it gave him decent wave clear for his AP build. The only other champ I saw take Rune Glaive mid was Diana.

But the new runic Echo, doesn't really offer anything unique, compare to it's counterpart Luden's echo. (and I'm certain that Luden's will be changed so that they won't stack.)

The only reason to you would take it mid lane is if you wanted to off Jungle. Or have the extra Neutral objective control.

Luden's = 3200g 100 AP 10% MS Passive: 100 (+ 10% AP)

Runic = 2450g 60 AP 10% MS Passive: 80 (+ 10% AP)

Runeglaive had unique properties like an AOE proc and the ability to convert an auto attack to magic damage. On top of that, it was bugged for an entire patch with Ezreal to give him benefits that it was not designed to do (procing on his Q). Runic Echoes doesn't offer anything to a laner beyond a cheap, terrible Luden's.

At least try to figure out -why- there'd be an abuse case before "screaming OP".
