Don't get me wrong. I LOVE SION. I love that he is strong and I love Tilterella's lethal build. With the correct runes are cannot loss lane. Comet Ult Hat 10% cdr at 10min Burn Boots 5% extra cdr Many games have been won by 2 Sion ults in one fight. you have the ability to engage with it and 28 seconds later use is to end the fight. These runes are good on Sion no matter how you build him. If you're tank Sion max E and poke in lane. If AP still max E but get mana flow. If AD get 2-3 points in E for lane then max Q. Also I will add that if you want to go full lethal mode Dark Harvest might be the way to go, but still with ult hat and the burn. Doran's RING is the best starting item for the extra damage on his E plus the mana you get from it when not running mana flow keeps you in lane.

Here's my normal tank build. item 1056 item 3800 item 3047 item 3065 item 3068 item 3193 item 3083

Here's the best AP build that I have tried since the AP item changes. item 1056 item 3285 item 3001 item 3157 item 3151 item 3030 item 1001 (boots depends on comp really)

This is my favorite AD Sion build. Works mid, top, or even support (but you build ap support item and not Yomu) item 1056 item 3147 item 3071 item 3047 item 3814 item 3156 item 3053 (last item is situational) BT for sustain is death is amazing and will unexpectedly kill enemies. Last item Frozen mallet, deadman's, warmogs, iceborn, or randuin's is good too. Really anything.

Couple things. Ultimate hat is multiplicative, regular CDR is additive. So basically, if I get to 45% CDR on my ult, and it goes down to...saaay, 35 seconds? 40 seconds? If the original cooldown was like...80 seconds? I wouldn't be getting 8 more seconds off of it, I would be getting 10% of what the CDR applied cooldown is. 10% of 35 or 40 seconds, not 10% of 80 seconds. So if anything, it would be 31.5 seconds to 36 seconds, not 27 to 32 seconds.

Another thing, getting to ult twice in a team fight sounds good, but the second ult will almost certainly be a point blank shot since you're already in the fray. Point blank damage at the teamfight stage on that ult is tiny. The extra knockup is nice, but if you're gonna complain about that, you might as well complain about the fact that he has a chance to knock you up every 4 or 5 seconds with Q

  1. I play Sion. A LOT. His ult cooldown late game is 28 seconds.
  2. His ult is a slow malphite ult. The first one you can use and damage and the second you just use as cc you dont have to do max damage. the knock up is good enough to get a Basic/Q in any way. (your Q can be stopped but the knock up from ult cant and is immediate if point black)
  3. At no point was i complaining at all i love everything about Sion rn.
