The Twisted Treeline has ranked. ARAM is definitely more popular than that. Riot should start ranked ARAM beta in S8 and start actual ARAM ranked in S9. The only thing is the matchmaking. Sometimes certain random comps are too bad to beat the other team with like a full poke team with a taric vs a team with 5 melee champ. The game is over in 15mins and the melee team has no chance. Here's what it could be: Howling Abyss Ranked Flex Requires lvl 30 and 20 Champs One ban per player just like normal ranked. Everyone picks their champ. Nothing else changes. It's like PORO King (WHICH IS A GREAT GAME MODE!!!!!!) without the Poro King.

B-but, if everyone picks their champs, then it's not all random. Oh, you call it Howling Abyss Ranked Flex. I dunno, HARF sounds pretty silly. And even if people did start playing this ranked mode, I feel like it wouldn't be taken seriously at all.

Great idea but instead it forces people to have all champs while playing. No more ARAM accounts bullshit.

I would love this. Doing a mode like this in ranked takes a lot of stress off players worrying about their lane. This gives a 5v5 opportunity off the bat. Use the aram map, let folks ban/pick their champs in draft like ranked SR.. This could be so cool. I fear it would make SR ranked queue times increase drastically which means it won't happen. Riot doesn't want to take people from their SR baby. Poro king is my favorite game mode though. I would play ranked all the time if we had a ranked match like that w/o the king..

I do think changes like being able to back to buy/heal/regen mana etc would be necessary. Sucks to only be able to buy when you die.

Please riot, do it!! lol

Why would anyone want a mode where your champion is chosen at random to be ranked?

I think Ranked ARAM is long overdue considering how many people now play ARAM. I would like to suggest though that instead of picking champions as that would take away half the fun of ARAM that we could get more re-rolls, say 5? And maybe raise the min champs owned a little higher.

I don't understand why people would say no to this, if you don't like the idea don't play the game mode. Why would you not want others to have a ranked of their favourite game mode. A lot of us ARAM players view SR very poorly but we don't complain about changes being made to SR because we know others enjoy that game mode more.

Ranked ARAM, sure. Ranked draft Howling Abyss, probably not.

Ranked ARAM would actually test a different skillset than the existing ranked options (i.e. adapting to random champs). Draft HA seems like it'd just be SR-lite.

Some things of note that i have noticed in aram that would make ranked extremely weird

1: cs is going to be streamed into one champion, and teams that do this will have a massive advantage. Have a nasus/veig/ any carry on your team, feed him 100% of minions, and watch the enemy lose to 1k ap veig at 6 minutes.

2: Executes. Perfectly timing executes is key to a good aram win, and i dont know how well it will take off with players.

3: The fact that winning a teamfight can lose you the game. Winning a teamfight, and not pressing the wave, leads to a low hp team that gets aced in return. A ton of Winning in aram comes from how far down the lane the ace happened. And nobody abuses this now. With ranked you will 100% hear the, "lets force the lost fight here so we can spawn and win the game". And it feels cheap.

4: Balance issues. A few examples that dont streamline with live are: Double Stacking champs like Veigar Thresh and Nasus, and how they perform when really fed. The fact that certain champs like sona and ziggs perform much differently in aram, and have sat at 70% winrates for years. Runes such as triumph and dark harvest being MUCH MUCH stronger on the map. And many more. As it sits now, there are certain champs who are basically guaranteed wins.

I think it would be cool to have a ARAM ranked. You still get 1 ban, but random champs. it would be a place for the tryhards in ARAMs, and leaves normal ARAM for the people trying to untilt or mess around

just make all champions available to all ppl in ARAM to make it truly random, then make it so if you get a champion, even if you dodge, you will have to play that champion the next time you enter the queue, then make it so you cant get the same champion twice now you have a more enjoyable ARAM that can be turn into a competitive mode?
