Please Change the Threshold for Which the Game Detects You as AFK

Basically the title. The game needs to be able to tell the difference between a player who is at the Keyboard, but is inputting information into the Shop vs. a player who is sitting in the fountain and not pushing or clicking anything in the client.

Hell, if typing from the Fountain counts as being afk, even that needs to be fixed. Clearly they're at the keyboard, just deciding to rage on it instead of play. AFK = Away From Keyboard. It doesn't mean griefing, giving up, negative attitude, being a douchebag, wanting to tell another player that they should go rot in the darkest deepest cell of the Neverinternet Land of the Fairy Spawn. Hopefully that makes sense.

Recently I've been Theorycrafting builds for champions, lots of them, in the Practice Tool... Though I'm there fiddling around with which combination of items I think will be the most OP, the game thinks I'm just jerking it. This is a problem that needs to be addressed.

In practice tool the afk thing should be removed.... sure.

But if someone is typing in chat and not playing, then it goes into AFK behavior of NOT PLAYING. Thus, someone can be sitting at base and typing up a storn rather than playing and get the afk punishment.

Heck, they are even making it more lax if you come back and your team wins the game and more.

Trust me.... i would much rather see harsher punishments for those purposefully sitting in base and giving up and flaming everyone, rather than those that are completely disconnected..... reason why:

  1. it has a chance of being accidental. Things happen, cats knock down routers... power outages happen... their sibling was trying to be a jerk.... the internet company could have some server maintnance going on and you didnt see the notice beforehand.... etc.

  2. It hurts the team MORE if they are just sitting there flaming and not doing anything. While disconnecting from the game could be a result of them just leaving.... it is still better off than them sitting there flaming everyone, trying to make everyone else mad or upset or whatever they can do.... and it is blatantly intentional. There are no ifs, ands, or buts about it. Also if they are not talking but are moving around a little to avoid the afk catcher.... same thing. They are deliberately trying to sabatoge their team.

And seeing as that is the ONLY reason someone would be typing up a storm in base in a normal game for more than 2-5 minutes, no.

The bottom line is that if the person is at the keyboard and typing/flaming/raging from the Fountain, what do you think is going to get them perma-banned? Leaver Buster? Or the reports of 9 other people?

The answer is obvious - this system is not doing anything to aid in delivering solid punishments to people, as, the people it is annoying are people that are actually at their keyboards.

Furthermore, it actually gives griefers a reason to keep playing thus they are encouraged to intentionally feed, steal resources from the jg and laners, and be a bigger burden on the team solely to avoid Leaver Buster penalties so they can get in another game faster and do it to the next team.

I think you have good logic, but might be a little confused. I would much rather have a person be TOTALLY AFK than to come steal my exp and gold and then proceed to dive into 5 people and not only waste all of what they stole from me, but get the enemy even further ahead (and me even further behind) than if they'd simply have just stayed in the Fountain.

The AFK notification is for people who have actually disconnected. We can all agree that people who actually disconnected (not Rage Quit) deserve lower punishments. Some people alt tab and get back late... Well, wouldn't it be better if this AFK Notification forcibly opened LoL up the way it does when the Load Screen begins?

Just saying, this system definitely needs re-evaluated a bit. It can be better than it is right now.
