I believe on the auto damage is still blocked but the on hit effect still occurs. So Nasus's stack damage, Blitz knockup, etc still goes through.

this is correct

aa effects go through dodge so that things like TF's gold card isn't completely useless against jax

TF's w is coded as a spell and not a regular AA.

On hit effects that are either Magic damage or CC effects.

Straight physical damage should be avoided. Looks like Jax has a bigger issue than Pantheon.

Because riot is very consistent.

Don't ask too many questions if you don't want to go the way of Summoner Revive.

This is indirectly mentioned by Meddler in another thread: http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-balance/Pu1VE1yV-pantheons-passive-effective-i-have-a-question-for-you-riot?comment=0001

Short answer: they want to make dodge/blind/block more consistent, hopefully during preseason changes.

Yup. Pretty much.

Because reasons.

There a lot of skills that are coded differently in the name of "balance".

Nasus' Q is flaged as an undodgeable skill. Same for Renekton's W or Poppy's Q. But, at the same time, if they are blinded, they will miss.

But Darius' W can be dodge. Why ? No idea. They are all AA modifier.

You can find weird shit like that for everything. Let's take as an example Dashes :

  • Jayce's Q (Hammer) damages can be dodge if you flash out before being hit by the Hammer.

  • On the other hand, you can NEVER dodge the damages from Jax's Q even if you interrupt the animation (with Veigar's E for example).

  • Fizz's Q now works exactly like Jayce's Q (hammer). But before the mini-rework, Fizz's Q was working exactly like Jax's Q.

Because it is spell damage. Blinds work the same way: they block any AA damage going towards them, but any extra damage due to spells go right through

Nasus q isn't counted as a spell but an AA enhancement. If you blind Nasus his q wont hit you at all.

I don't believe this is true. I'll have to test it again, but I remember i used to pick teemo into nasus for this reason and it didn't work.

if lifesteal is applied when using Ql it's an auto attack, not a spell

ModWulf Helhammer1 votes

Yes, it's an AA, but it still counts as an ability. I'm going to test it later today, but I am 99% certain that blinds don't stop the bonus damage from Nasus Q

killd0zer1 votes

dumb

TheLastShadow451 votes

It doesn't proc ludens so therefore it's still an AA.

ModWulf Helhammer1 votes

It's an ability that procs on hit effects and is coded as an AA enhancer. But it still will be stopped by banshee's veil, and I am 99% certain that blinds don't stop it

TheLastShadow451 votes

Trust me it works how I said it does. I used to play Nasus vs Teemo a lot back in season 3 and never once did Nasus q hit when he was blinded.

Ralanr1 votes

Actually not for Nasus. His Q applies physical damage. If it was magic damage then Pantheon's block shouldn't negate it do well (which it does).

An example of a AA enhancer that is magic damage is Mordekaiser's Q. Even if Pantheon blocks it, he takes a massive amount of damage.

Meddler has said that Pantheon and Jax's block and dodge have been done more on a case by case basis, so sometimes they don't block or avoid something they should (if I remember this right). He said that preseason was a rough estimate on when they'll look into this issue, but I'm not sure it'll be then.

ModWulf Helhammer1 votes

Yes, I know it applies physical damage. But it's still an ability. I'm going to test it later today, but I am 99% certain that blinds don't block the bonus damage from Nasus Q

Ralanr1 votes

Well yes they don't block. Blinds are suppose to make them miss.

ModWulf Helhammer1 votes

You get what I said, blocking vs miss is just semantics

Ralanr1 votes

I suppose. I've always felt that blinds can make you miss multiple AAs while blocking specifically stops 1.

MrVon 01 votes

Its an ability

EndlessSorcerer1 votes

It's a quirk of the old code. It will probably be removed if they ever rework or update Jax.

khorney1 votes

It shouldn't go through at all since its a aa. Glitch maybe or something else

Aezanthya1 votes

I think Garen's Q also ignores jax's dodge.
