@ Riot: Can Sion's passives actually be meaningful?

  1. From what I have heard (and seen) about Sion's Glory in Death passive, he actually dies FASTER the higher the level he is. This feels bad, man.

  2. Sion's health stacking passive is noticeably poor compared to the other infinite passives: Thresh, Nasus, Veigar. Considering Sion is a Fighter who has a hard time landing his damaging abilities, if you build him damage you are asking to die, and if you build him tank, you don't become TRULY tanky unless you are A.) extremely fed early or B.) the game has been going on for 45+ minutes.

http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_champions%27_armor (for reference)

Keep in mind, that Sion's armor is 23 at level 1 and only a mere 74 at level 18, which is unusually low for a fighter/tank and is among the lowest base armor values at level 18 in the game. This means that Sion is highly dependent on health to make his W worthwhile, which is hard because he is also extremely reliant on having good cooldowns on his abilities. The problem there, is that Black Cleaver is terrible on him as he can't proc it very fast with his kit, and he needs armor/health or armor/mr items to succeed.

Sion is one of my three favorite champions in this game and I don't want him to become flavor of the month over-powered super duper champion, but he just feels so unsatisfying to use unless you are against a top laner who you counter (which aren't as many as you might hope). My favorite part about Sion pre-rework was his health passive, and as it is right now, his health passive doesn't feel like a high point of his kit. It feels like its there soley to gate him early and mid game.

If this thread gets down-voted, then that's fine, but I'd like to hear what Riot thinks about Sion in his current state. I'm no expert on champion analysis and I'm not always the best at expressing myself through text based communications, but I've played a lot of Sion so I think I have a decent opinion, anyway.

Sion is insanely strong right now. Why are people constantly asking for buffs to his passive...

Considering Sion is a Fighter

...No.

Sion is a secondary fighter. He is primarily a tank.

As for not getting tanky, what do you build on him? I focus building tank first (my first rush is either item 3110 item 3143 or item 3102 depending on my match up.

I agree that item 3071 is a terrible item on him. Mainly because his main damage output isn't from auto attacking. item 3748 only gets by because he has infinitely scaling health.
