While i'll admit, shaco has seen some rough times...

I find him fun to play, and to be honest, quite balanced. Sure, he can't pop people instantly, but that's cause that isn't really shaco! Sure, he's an assassin, but he likes to mess with the enemies head, but in order to do that it takes time, and just bursting someone instantly takes little to no time on other assassins. not to mention most of the burstiest assassins all have their main damage into one ability(if you'd like examples, feel free to ask!) while shaco has his power spread through his kit, which is good! his q, though it does no damage it now reduces it's cool down and has a nice stealth duration at max rank allowing him to actually escape after a gank goes wrong. his W, even on ad shaco has tons of utility, escape routes, traps, it helps gank as well, with the fear. his E allows him to stick to his enemies, and his ult allows for more mind games, and can offer quite some damage if used correctly. I'd rather not riot buff shaco, only to overbuff him and proceed to nerf him in an area that was fine. Your thoughts?

Yeah assassins don't have to be about burst damage. The core of an assassin is the target access, ability to find vulnerable targets, and the ability to ultimately kill them.

People who think burst is required to be an assassin are just simpleminded kiddies with no attention span.

With that said I feel like Shaco is a bit weak right now but I could be wrong.

I mean, shaco's great at clearing camps while stealing the enemies jg, he can get some nice early ganks off, it's just that some assassins, for ex kha'zix can burst almost instantly., while shaco does it over time. If he was, say, labled as a fighter, people wouldn't complain.

People shouldn't complain about it in the first place. Nocturne is an assassin too.

Whats the point of finging your target if they kill you faster?

"Escape after a gank goes wrong."

If you have Q maxed, you're probably 13+ 14 sec cd, lowered by 2.5.

That's 11 seconds that you are sitting there in "a gank gone wrong".

Meanwhile, we look at Zed, LB, Talon, Kat, Kass all can escape instantly.

He is an assassin. His job isn't to sit around and hope that the enemy falls for his little mind games. His job is to kill isolated squishy targets.

I tend to run 45% cdr masteries on shaco, along with 6 ish cdr for runes. while other assassins do have easier escapes, shaco's kit allows him to survive in fights longer. shaco's mind games aren't always sitting around, they can be created and activated in seconds(if you can pull it off right). I'm just glad I can ult/w while in stealth and remained stealthed.

I just run straight lethality and magic penetration (quints, marks, glyphs), along with health per-level on Shaco. Rarely do I build resistances as I rely on my boxes, Q, mobility and ultimate to escape and engage in fights. The ability to negate a champions resistances allows for quicker target elimination -- and by mid/late game, when i've acquired my Protobelt/Duskblade, I can often one-shot a squishy target such as a soft mid laner or bottom-ADC/support with a Q-backstab, protobelt in-and E to delete a target.

Shaco's strengths come through luring targets into engagements where they believe they have the upper hand, but in reality, they're walking into a chain-CC of Box fears, which supplement his DPS while he focuses out a single target. If the enemy team engages on me when i'm on Shaco, I often have 4-5 boxes ready for them to trip over that'll let me eventually sneak over and kill a carry, then proceed to run off, and repeat.

Shaco's definitely gotten nerfed a bit, but I think he's in a tolerably healthy spot right now. He might need a few QoL buffs though to his boxes lifespan.

I think the biggest thing I've heard when talking to my Shaco main friend is that his kit is so iconic to them. Riot wants to give him a full VGU but he issue they have is deciding what to get rid of. Every single VGU that I can remember has removed at least one or two spells, but on Shaco what would that be? I hear Shaco players love his stealth, his boxes, his dagger, his clone. For the sake of arguments, let's make it a Warwick sized rework since he stayed reletivly the same champion. His passive was made more niche with clear strengths and weaknesses like only be g healed at below half HP. We know Warwicks Q was altered, his W was redone, his E is completely removed and replaced, and his R was also tweaked.

So taking a rework that size, what would Shaco players be willing to change? His passive would need to be altered, three of his spells would need to be redone and one of them would be removed and replaced entirely. So what would Shaco players be willing to give up?

Only thing I could consider giving up is his E, but integrating his 'poison' slow on into some other aspect of his kit. It really makes him extra sticky.

And that's cool, but that's my point. Everything else feels so engrained, what do you get rid of and change without angering his entire player base?

his problem is there is barely any reason to pick him over lb because she does what he does better aswell asfilling the assassin role, i think shacos q needs to be reverted back to how it was and same with his passive, and his ult could use a detonate button after a certain ammount of time
