Defender and Guardian should be Tank titles

The titles for Tanks don't do justice to what a Tank does for their team. The role of a tank is simple, soak up damage for your carries so they can do damage while you defend. The support titles are all right except for Defender and Guardian. Those both sound like Tank titles to me. A tank defends and guards their teams from damage. Grunt is more of a soldier, bruiser should go over to fighter, I don't know what a Bulward is, might be a typo for Bulwark. If so, then it fits the tank role. Enforcer is all right, I guess. Brute sounds more like a fighter to me but whatever. The bottom line is, Guardian and Defender should be a tank's title instead of just a support's.

I agree when I think Guardian and Defender I don't think of Nami Sona Soraka Janna I think more along the lines of a tank, someone who will body block attacks for allies.

And I also feel that the support titles should be different as well. The aforementioned mage supports should bring titles like Savior or Angel or something.

The problem with the support titles is they have to fit all the supports, including Braum Leona Taric (and also Thresh Blitzcrank who are often built tanky but don't really have a protective vibe to them, although they can peel, it doesn't define their identity in the same way).

If they make those tank titles, then Braum Leona Taric wouldn't be able to earn them, which would be at least as wrong as Garen Sion Shyvana not getting them, probably wronger.

Support isn't really a class, it's a position that can be filled by multiple classes, and these kinds of issues make that clear. If they replaced support with "Defensive Mage" or something like that, then Braum Leona are tanks who can support, and Soraka Sona Janna Bard are defensive mages who can support, and Lux Lulu Morgana are offensive or defensive mages who can support (probably emphasizing their defensive side), and Annie Zyra are offensive mages who can support anyway.

And Taric still fits two classes at once and Blitzcrank Thresh now don't fit any, so maybe that's why they don't do that.

Or, just class the fucking tank supports as tanks. Just be cause they're support tanks doesn't mean they aren't tanks.

Yeah, those two last support titles don't fit at all. They're tank titles (and lower sounding than Bulwark really).

Whomever thought tank champions would be well identified by "Brute" has a weird perception of tanks.

Leona Taric Shen JarvanIV Garen MonkeyKing Amumu

By all means, these are not all the tanks, and some of the tank-tagged champions fit the brute description. But for those who might, even a few of them (like Braum) are really more defined by their ability to defend than their ability to savage.

Grunt, Bruiser, Brute, there are fighter descriptors not tank descriptors.

Protector, Defender, Guardian. These are tank decriptors.

JarvanIV Garen MonkeyKing seem pretty brutal to me, but I agree that some of the titles are a better fit to DrMundo Darius Malphite Shyvana Sion. But those are also tanks, and "defender" or "guardian" is just as much of an odd fit for some tanks as "brute" is for other tanks.

Classes are big and have a lot of variety in them, which is going to cause trouble for this kind of scheme no matter how you slice it.

TBH all of the titles are a little off:

Assassin: Reaper sounds more menacing than Slayer Fighter: Okay, this one is spot on Mage: Invoker sounds more powerful than Warlock or Magus Marksman: All sorts of bad Support: Actually decent, but some of them might fit tanks better. Tanks: Except for Bulwark, these sound more like Bruisers, of course Riot might confuse tanks with Bruisers.

Not all titles will fit all characters, however on these two I have to agree.

I think they meant "bulwark" which is a tanky word.
