There is zero point of building any type of defense these days. Damage is just way out of control, especially of the AD type. When most Garens I face build full AD instead of any type of resistance, that shows that there is something wrong in todays game. Teamfights last shorter than 5-6 seconds, its just blow up or be blown up. GG

TTK Dreadnought1 votesKinda have to agree there. On Illaoi, i only really build 1, maybe two armor items, and a single MR item. but everything else other than boots is damage, and sometimes i sell the boots later for more damage because its a competition of "who can kill who faster in 3 secs flat"

I'm not really gonna say these are even exceptions. This is just the broken part of Riot's balancing. They can build full tank because of their broken damage numbers. If you tried to do that with a "normal" tank, they would have zero damage output.
