I'm not sure but i think i've read that most high ranked players will have low ranking at season start. So even if you start at silver 2, you should play with old diamond V that have been demoted to silver 2 as well.
anything V is potentially a boosted animal or a benefactor of boosted animals

there was a bug with flex queue placements (Diamond+ were actually mostly getting Bronze/Silver) but they've mostly fixed it. Should be completely fixed by next patch.
