His new W has serious implications in teamfights, too, giving his entire team the means to dodge incoming basic attacks. Again, this all requires positional smarts, and the ability’s cooldown means he’ll only really get one shot with it per late-game fight. It’s a strong ability, basically, but only when it’s used properly.

Let's just wait and see man. I know people don't really like the way Riot balances things, but if it stays true to what it says; It shouldn't be too much of a problem. He is a tank after all and needs to peel / assist his team mates. Think of it as a Vorpal Blade, but it shields instead of heals.

It also has a serious drawback in team fights. Yes, you're immune to auto attacks, but you're far more susceptible to AoE spells.

You have issues mate. It only dodges if ally is nearby, so in lane it doesnt do anything. It basically makes Shen viable support. Also problem with that is, you know Shens allies will be inside zone, so you can aim skillshots there. And Jax E stuns and deals damage based on dodged attacks. This is just dodge for couple of seconds. Its very well thought ability. For example it would be useful to save his ADC from Rengar, but it would be useless against Leblanc or Ahri or similar. Its a good teamfight ability but seems its CS is a bit long so it wont be too strong.

Explain why? It just block auto attack, its not like Yasuos or Braums that blocks spells. It doesnt stun or damages when it expires. In team fight it would probably dodge 2-3 autos from ADC, thats it.

There's a circle on the ground for 2-3 seconds, and you can't auto attack enemies in that circle. That makes as much sense as anything in the game.

So thats your argument? "it shouldnt exist"? It doesnt shield, it doesnt stun, it doesnt deal damage, it doesnt block abilities, it doesnt aoe heal , it doesnt make you aoe unkillable. It makes u vulnearable to skillshots, as most will be aimed to that zone. Shen can easily be knocked back to remove it from allied (Tristana R, Alistar ", Janna ulti...). All it does is block few auto attacks when ally is nearby. It doesnt give advantage on solo lane.

Relax. With how small and short it is, not to mention being unmovable, it will make 2-3 AA's miss. Get real. This isn't that big of a deal. Would I have wanted/expected this to be his new W? Not really but I am waiting to see how it is in gameplay. As should you before you cry
