He is absolutely broken right now. He can literally 100-0 anyone with 2 items.

Because that's literally all he can do now.

He can't splitpush anymore. His teamfighting is deplorable. All he has left is his ability to kill someone.

If Rengar is honestly tearing through your entire team, then I assure you, it's not him. You've either fed him to the point where any champion could do the same, or you're simply that unskilled compared to him. Harsh, but those are quite frankly the only explanations as to why a one-trick assassin is wrecking your team.

Also most Rengars I've seen did not pull off the split second deletions he's known for.

Some of them also fed because of mistimed ults and his lack of escapes.

Not counting the fact that it takes time to stealth, gets countered easy by a heavy cc tank (Leo, Gnar) and then he dies quickly because he's terribly squishy and is a one trick pony.

I don't think Talon would have killed Lucian before he (very nearly instantly) became untargetable. Gangplank definitely not.

Talon definitely could have I've done the math (I'm obsessive, I did it before I made that post) Talon's one autoattack would deal 1764 raw damage assuming cutthroat and a crit. The bleed from his Q would then have dealt an additional 671 damage over 4 seconds plus the damage from red buff.

Additionally, there is no warning if Talon ults in. Tahm had almost a full second to prepare for Rengar.

No other assassin comes to mind that could do that in the SINGLE FRAME it takes for Tahm to devour Lucian. Fed or not.

Rengar's counterplay, like most assassins, comes in the form of taking precautions. Deep wards, pink wards, positioning near heavy utility champions, and grouping are effective ways to keep assassins from completing their 1 mission of killing you very quickly.

Honestly, if you're afk farming bot lane as a squishy adc, and Rengar comes and kills you, that's not imbalance, that's you messing up.

its easy to counter play a rengar its called having a support who knows how to time a cc stun when rengar jumps onto one of your allies. have a naut or janna properly use their abilities to stop him. taking precautions to ward and knowing when to save your flash for these kinds of situations separate good players from those who still need improvement. if this is about being a solo laner than its about good jungle co-ordination and have the knowledge to know how fast a rengar can clear jungle and when he might try to gank with ult by timing the average time when a rengar will hit 6. its about knowing the game and how to be prepared.

The counterplay to every assassin. Rengar is very easy to counter because if he can't jump in a kill someone, then he jumps in, gets cc'd then dies because he has no escape. And if you're playing someone that's so squishy you get deleted, then you should have someone to peel for you or someone to keep you alive with shields and/or healing. Lulu/Sona/Raka. Tahm is pretty good for getting away from rengar.

So, how come one person makes a thread about Rengar and then the boards then decides to make him the next boards champion complaint? I liked it when we all complained about Yasuo, it feels like so long ago already.

Rengar might be able to one shot but hes so damn squishy you'd think hes just a taller Veigar w/ AD.

Heres good ideas for dealing with him: Stun him, team focus him, don't go wandering around with low health, buy Zhonyas (Insert "How To Counter Rengar As ADC" vid here), I believe certain wards can see him when hes invisible but I seem to have forgotten, if you're a tank try body blocking whoever you think hes going to target as he might miss and click the wrong person while r'ing (Also if you are a tank or sure you wont die, body block his e as when its a snare its just game over for anyone other than the tank), stay away from bushes when laning against him or fighting him in the jungle, make sure to have wards in bushes to ensure he cant bush hump jump you, Rengar can't do shit if you stop him from getting fed hes basically the equivalent of a small kitten thats just gently biting your fingers if he starts feeding, and if all else fails...S@20.

The Boards is filled with idiots who seem to have no idea how to really play the game. They just get killed by a champ, cry "OP!" and complain on the boards, and if they get upvotes they make more threads until everyone thinks so too. It's all just circlejerking and upvote farming.

Riot maintains a pretty good standard by mostly ignoring the idiots on the boards. It's the Boards in general that's like the United States, where idiots cater to other idiots. It's fine though because the Boards idiots are a tiny but vocal minority in the League community. Actually good threads are still the most successful.

Actually, counterplay can be considered as all of these different options. If its a way to defeat the opposing force using a strategy to "counter" their moves or "plays" then it can be considered counterplays.

Nope, difference between plays and measures. A Counterplay would be when rengo goes on zed and zed R's him to dodge some of the damage. Wards etc are just measures just like Qss or Zhonya is a measure against zed not a play.

The meta.

And to be honest, Rengar could always instakill anyone in all those months. It is just that he always has been balanced by red trinkets and the fact that he can't escape after killing someone.

What makes me think that he became strong is probably the fact that red trinkets have been changed and they can no longer detect Rengar in stealth.

that rengar used a 4 skill/ 2 item combo; one of which was an ultimate on a long cooldown, and 2 skills/1 item occured in the split second of the jumping animation. He had to have a lot of practice to get it just right, and built a full fury before hand, and had to find you alone and plan his attack. This is no flash/tibbers play.

I think the big problem is the nerfs to vision have put assassins and Rengar included in the spotlight, now they can freely roam through bushes and ult without too much worry of anyone having the item 3362 anymore.

That use to be my main counter to Vayne and Rengar alike.

Only shaco and eve's stealth are semi comparable to rengo's stealth. The rest aren't even as long stealthed or use their stealth in a different way, And also they can't oneshot you with 2 items like rengo can :).

I do would like a nerf on akali though :D. Those 3 ulti hops are too op imo.

i will argue that khazix's stealth is quite long too,and his dmg on isolated target is ridiculous.

if u wanna talk about 100to0 there is also talon.

late game shaco can also oneshot, by just auto attacks(crit shaco)

Yeah his stealth is quite long but once he comes out of it doesnt mean your straight up dead. Isolation damage is very strong yes, but then again before you even get isolated you need to not be near anyone else or near minons which is very unlikely to happen. Rengo doesn't care he goes in and instagibs you or if he is ap instagibs 3 of you.

Talon is strong too yes but before he goes stealth you can see the blades and if he goes missing in lane you just back off, rengo can come from anywhere at any time.

Yes lategame shaco can do that, rengo can do it at 2 items ;).
