Honestly, i'd like to believe this game would be more fun if it would cost money to play.
Alright, listen, League of Legends has been one of my favourite game for many years now, and it will always be, however i will take a break from it for now and return once the balance is in a state that's more enjoyable for me... or till a Rek'sai skin comes out.
But that's not the point now, however i had a thought yesterday.
I asked myself if the game would be more enjoyable for the community to play if you had to buy it in order to play it.
Feel free to discuss this, but currently Skins and LCS are the main income source of Riot games, however i think LCS the most, hence Riot must put effort not towards balancing it for the community to play it but for the community to enjoy watching it, which can cause the game to be like ''What the fuck why'' for some casual League players.
The damage goes higher, the games turn faster, the champions more flashier, for that one purpose of making it more enjoyable to watch.
But what if you, f.e, would pay like 9.99€ a month in order to play it? Sure, player numbers would sink, but you should also keep in mind that the mayor factor that pays Riot will be the community now, and in order to keep the community happy you would need to listen to the community, to Reddit, to the boards etc. open public Q&A's, all that kinda stuff.
Because an unhappy community = low income in that case.
Of course, Riot could add a free to play version where you can play with restrictions, like, only summoners rift, no rotating gamemodes, and only 6 champs of each class (Marksman, Tanks, etc.)
That i know however will not happen, i wish regardless that at some point LCS will deliver so little money they will have to focus more on getting skins out and focusing on the community.
Just a thought i felt like sharing, feel free to discuss it.
