They can't balance around ARAM because the Rift is where they make their money. Other reasons include ARAM's special set of rules, specifically the curtailed healing, that make it a totally different game than the one they actually balance for.

If they cared about ARAM, there would be a form of Ranked ARAM that most wouldn't enjoy. Primarily because it would require them to open every champion for the draw to ensure some form of "fairness" within a random draw.

Balancing SR around ARAM would work about as well as the current strategy of balancing ARAM around SR. That is, not well at all. Different modes simply have different requirements. For instance, consider a champ that exerts pressure by roaming around the map (e.g. Talon or Kassadin). If you balance them for a straight-forward map where they can't flank, then they'd be excessively powerful on maps where they can flank.

It's much simpler to just have a baseline map for balance (SR is the official competitive map, so that gets used as the default), and then adjust any map-specific outliers as needed. Unfortunately, Riot historically tends to forget that second part.

Okay, ponder this. If the game is totally unbalanced, then you have no way to show skill in winning. Winning is only fun for those with 2-year-old maturity if it is unbalanced. You like winning like that? Play bot games. You can always win them. And you can show more skill there. LOL

I love aram, but I tell you the balance between champions needs to be individual and consistent across all champions of all types. Just finished a game ... I got an S+ ... on cass, in aram. The team still lost. Balance needs to either make so ap teams have just as much ability to take down objectives (turrets/inhibitors) as ad champions. We had more kills, but couldn't compete with the turret killing capability ... especially late game.

Balance aram so that both teams have the same capability riot.

While I lost that game, it was fun ... except at the end when they could take down three turrets and the inhibitor all in one push. That is stupid. It should change. AD should have NO advantage over ap on damage to structures.
