This would really liven up the game. For one it would give each side another thing to fight over and that interaction would lead to more interactions across the map and more plays. It would allow Top to have more impact on Dragons. And say a Supp or ADC to help top if they are getting camped. The possibilities with this are many and it would be awesome.

I don't think you realize how hard games would snowball with this mechanic. Games will be the exact same early, spam bot ganks, and then once adc is fed they just waltz up to top lane and get them fed too.

Like no offense but giving people a free tp from one side of the map to the other is way too strong. Roaming is a delicate thing that is difficult to pull off optimally, and that is the point.

i feel like this would be far too game changing without some kind of restriction. Maybe treat the portals like a Skarner Pylon? it needs to be owned inorder to be used type thing.

I like the idea but think about it for a sec. Portals are essentially free TP to bot lane and vice versa, diagonally across the map. Herald isn't that much important of an objective to use portals from top to bot but Dragons, although weaker individually, are important due to Dragon Soul mechanic so you'd constantly see portals from top to bot, even if it's the enemy jungler.

This would force bot to play a lot more defensively and play as if they can expect to be ganked any time by a third guest, that's not even in the same quadrant of the map as they are. And they virtually don't have to commit any resource (like a TP) to do it either or have an available location to portal to (portals are always available, they don't require your minion or a ward to work).

Crossing half lane would always open you up to a sudden portal from top, even if you put a CD on it or limit it to just one champion per game. And this would feel like that dead meta from a time where bot was always getting 3-5 man ganked, that resulted in TP eating nerfs.

I personally don't think this change would fix anything, it would give top laners one more extra free resource to use, that will inevitably be used to keep ADCs down and feel like their lane is a zoo.

I have no idea why this was upvoted. This is just going to make cancer instant win top lane champions, which is what’s currently killing top lane, even more aids by just always getting portal priority.

I like the idea alot actually however its gotta take a while to travel through, like tp is (4 to 5 seconds) and should act like bard e where everyone can go through it in a certain time frame (duration counts down once one person goes through). Also cool down should be about 4 to 5 min

I mean, we could take a lesson from dawngate and have the side alcoves contain twisted treelines capture point, and the capture point just gives gold per 5 for the person who takes it?

Yeah, it works. Is just a "pacman gameplay", I thought about share this but riot does not care and is so frustrating when all players share things and riot just ignore, you simple stop trying to help.

Why the portals would work? Cause will put the alcoves on the path of the game, they will be in the map and not just a random piece of island somewhere. They are now a critical path that players can use.

What I would do is trigger the portal with the plates from the side towers. Once the plate is destroyed the enemy team has access to the portal for a a certain period of time. In that way the player would know when it would happen and if a team destroy the plate that means someone is getting pressure, so the top or bot can come to help. And the team putting pressure will have to pay attention, they know they are in dangerous for getting the extra golds (risk and reward).

But this only would make the alcoves useful during lane phase (is more than now). When a team get both side towers destroyed the gate would be open if your TELEPORT is on CD, so mids that take tp could go sides (they already go but whatever) and the tops with TP as well. Is not something omg so op cause you need to be on point A to go to point B and it is all you do. The teleport can go anywhere so is better to have it ready but if it is on CD you still can use.

The other spells are ok, so I don't think TP would be 100 % pick maybe by tops what is good, I think. Only ghost and exhaust are bad but the rest is still useful.

But yeah.. riot will just ignore.

Champions that have global ults will lose a lot if this happens. My Shen will become really bad.

It makes teleport useless, and riot heavily nerfed teleport historically. They would have to remove teleport to add such a feature.

Your Shen will be nerfed if nothing change.together with GP (i hope maybe this grasp abuser ends badly) TF. I will post it all time. Delete alcoves they are useles ppls using them maybe 1 times by 10 or 20 games and when using they die anyway ( o yea that INSANE youtube ALCOVE OUTPLAYS "flash over wall noone do it before") Buff tp (let us cancel and make lower cd) not overall lower cd but for expample "when use near or teleport to top turret cd is reduced by 40%" that change give ppls chance to fight for drakes and heralds.

Yeah, that would be a good idea but portals should have a charge time, 3 seconds minimum so that players at least have a chance to avoid being killed. That will make it much more fair for both sides.

I want less gimmicks in this game, not more. If one player does extremely well and kills everyone then fair enough, but when games are lost because I couldn't get my team to sit on drags that gets tiresome.

I've been toying with this exact idea recently but didn't put it out there cause I was afraid of being down voted to hell. Glad I was wrong!

This is a GREAT Idea.

How would it be designed tho?

Do you need to capture both or just one to TP to the other?

Should it be a Mob you kill to gain a buff (like RH that you use to TP to the other Alcove? (this way Jungle could come take it and have a TP?)

What is the CD on the TP? 180s? 240s 420?

My Vote would be for a Mob to kill and gain a RH like buff that can be used to TP to the Other Alcove on a 420s Respawn.
