Turret plating Suggestion

Right now, as a toplane main, it sucks to have the botlane win lane and then force their way top to "push and apply pressure", when in reality they just want my damn turret plating as well. Sucks even more when they come top without asking, while im stomping lane, and tell me to go bot.

So can we have it so every player can only redeem up to 5 plates of gold max? Most players don't reach 5 plates, and if they do, they're already ahead of others.

So, I peeped your match history and I saw a lot of Gnar and Darius. I don't want to invalidate your frustration at being pushed out of your own lane and being denied turret plating gold, because it is really rude without asking, but I do want to pass along a thought. Being a team game, if bot lane wins their lane, it makes sense for them to apply two champions' worth of pressure to top lane to get as much gold as possible so that the ADC comes online sooner. It is much more likely that two champions, one being ranged, will bully out your lane opponent and take turret plating than it is that you will be able to force your opponent out on your own and take that same plating. This has nothing to do with your skill and should not be taken as an insult. Instead, I think it might make you feel better if you look at it as a beneficial move to the team as a whole. Your ADC gets more gold, the enemy top laner gets bullied harder, and you get to have the advantage of being in a lane (bot lane) where the enemy has no fallback tower and your jungler and you can easily 2v2 the opponent bot laners. The reason I mention Gnar and Darius is that those champions bring a lot of functionality without excessive gold, unlike champions like Riven. Again, it is a bummer that you feel put off by the ordeal and I agree it is never fun being forced out of your own lane, but I really hope that my explanation helps in some way.

Honestly well spoken, and I appreciate the response. Yet in the games I was forced out top I was doing quite well in lane phase, and denied the enemy decent gold from farm, and was steadily farming turret plating with demolish and such. With the meta being focused around damage, being behind on items makes my defenses drastically weaker, getting me to be popped far more frequently....which usually means I either have to avoid conflict by farming a bit more to catch up, or be a meatshield for bot. If its the former, then botlane tends to be aggressive, then flame me for not grouping. If its the latter, then any voice I have in the game is completely null, as "I have a bad KDA".

Regardless, unless I'm hard stomping everything, I manage to be the butt of all blaming for any mistake that anyone might make. Toplane sucks.

I can see where that would be very frustrating and sadly I don't have an easy answer for you (I play 100% support, so my role is a lot different than yours). My suggestion would be to really focus on knowing when to group and to communicate when you intend to split with OMW pings, and if your team insists on you being with them then just accept your squishiness and hope that your teammates can make good use of the damage you manage to soak. I really don't have a better answer for you and I wish I did.

I will give my 2 cents though and say that I think you would feel a lot better if you built Black Cleaver over Trinity Force and Deadman's Plate over Randuin's as your first and second purchases. Black Cleaver is cheaper and gives you very respectable stats without sacrificing as much durability, and Deadman's Plate gives you strong mobility which both enables you to regroup faster and avoid a lot of damage rather than soak it by simply moving faster and being able to position better.
