Why am I playing against plats in normals?

What is it with this elo/mmr system? In ranked I'm playing with/against high gold/low to mid plats(as a silver 1) and now I am in normals too? This was a team builder game. Of which I have maybe played 20 games altogether of. I had two plats and unranked and a diamond 5 on my team and the enemy team had 3 plats a silver and an unranked. I'm 30 games into ranked and have maybe 100 games in normals altogether. I am just not understanding how I got plat mmr in ranked and normals already. I also could have sworn that Team builder mmr was seperate from blind/draft? I played about 60% of my sub 30 games on aram and about half of the rest in coop vs ai. There is no way possible I got plat mmr in normals already. I also went 6/4 in my ranked placements. Got silver 2 and before I even got into silver 1 promos I had plats in my games? Any ideas or am I just unlucky?

people in your level could be playing with plat friends.

Maybe the plat/diamonds you were facing had low normal MMR because they rarely play normal games?

Your playing against diamonds in team draft not in solo q......

Your playing against low gold high silver in solo

i checked your match history to clear this up for you.

Normal Queue and Ranked Queue are completely separate - they don't share MMR. Higher Ranked players play less Normals and therefore have lower Normal MMR.

ranked mmr doesnt affect normal mmr.

so people who usually play nothing but ranked, can climb to masters and then play a normal and get matched against unranked and silvers. its pretty dumb yea. i dont know why ranked mmr doesnt just translate to normal mmr if its higher.

Plat's don't usually pull try-hard mode in normals

It's totally legitimate for a player to have a normal MMR and a ranked try-hard MMR. It's not an unfair match unless somehow you've pissed him off into try-hard mode.

MMR doesn't care for rank (if a gold is regularly playing against bronze, there's a problem with them), especially in normals. Normal and ranked have different MMR. If you started playing ranked exclusively for awhile and climbed several ranks, then played a normal game out of the blue, then you would be facing players of a likely lower rank

norms MMR =/= Ranked MMR.

that and the border they have is not necessarily indicative of their current skill level anyway.

Each game more rather its dom aram 5s norm 5s rank 5s arranged rank or 3s norm or 3s arranged rank they each have their own mmr. So if you are playing plats in normals its because ether their mmr in norms is low or yours is high.

The only way to get better mmr is to keep playing and winning in those respective games.

I wish I was put with plats and gold in my ranked games, I always get put up with bronze 1 and lower.

i jsut went up against a premade made up of high golds, and low plats, my team had me (silver 5) and a few bronze, and a few unranked.

I didnt learn anything except how to get my teeth stomped in while sitting under tower for 20 minutes, and getting made fun of for being "bad"

Fuck the matchmaking system.
