The big misconception about solo queue - Climbing is impossible without duo.

I'm writing this thread as someone who's played league since season 1 over multiple accounts.

Right now I see on youtube videos and streams that you can climb to high elo by "learning the macro game and sticking to a few S tier champions."

THIS. IS. FALSE.

Let me break this illusion for you. The high elo streamers have ALL duo queue'd to their master/challenger rank. The ONLY way they get to high elo without duo'ing with another player is if they play THOUSANDS of solo queue games. This is the only way.

Let me repeat that. The ONLY way to get high elo is if you spend thousands of games with a 51% win rate and pray to jesus that your promos are where you win 3/5 games. The rest of the time you are 100% dependent on not having a bad team.

Do not be fooled. You cannot get to masters/challenger playing solo queue. It is simply impossible. Truly impossible. You need to duo with another player equal to you. ALL high elo players have duo'd to their rank if they are less than 2000 games played in ranked. All.

There are no exceptions.

The way League is set up in 2019 is entirely balanced around pro players. (absolute cancer I know). If pro players are complaining the game gets major nerfs. The 0.1% of players who are pro dictate who is OP and who is not. Do not think that your individual play matters. You need to Duo if you want to climb. You need to.

I refuse to cater to riot's balancing and will forever play solo because I have respect for myself. I truly admire those who play over 2000 ranked games to get diamond+. You have my respect. But i dont have the time to invest in that.

Everyone knows Riot Games is a joke and their team who decides balancing should all be fired.

Hi, someone who's actually climbing in SoloQ here (or at least was until I got distracted by other games again).

You don't need a duo. You need to git gud.

You don't even need to play S-tier champs. Just play a small pool of decent champions.

You keep repeating such a blatantly wrong statement, while providing absolutely nothing to back it up. Is this some kind of satire I'm just not getting?

You are kind of right, you have to play a ton of games. You may be a decent player, but stuck at crap rank because you don't play this game 24/7, thats the truth

you do know that when you duo queue they give the other team higher mmr to compensate for the duo

Literally the ONLY champ I can climb through elo hell with is Ahri. Ahri singlehandedly got me to gold a few seasons ago. She is the ultimate spoonfeeding champion. land a charm and as long as your team isn't actually clinically r%%%%%ed, you turn it into a 5v4

Straight up lies in OP's post to help himself sleep at night.

Duo helps sure, but no challenger player needs a duo or thousands of games. and of course they don't have a 51% winrate.

Most of them have >70% winratio up to diamond 4.

We all have our limits. Mine is plat 1 and I could create multiple accounts and climb to this rank in less then 2 weeks. You can't expect to be in bronze, silver, gold for years and by magic climb all the way past diamond in one season. It takes time and patience, every year I climb one whole division by learning more about the game. If you need a duo to climb then your duo is better then you and you are just climbing on their back

i got to plat4 as a support main. it was "easy" to get there solo, but now i mostly play duo since its much easier to climb with a duo as support( dont matter what role my duo is). but you need to watch BoxBox, NB3, Tyler1, T2g, and other high elo streamer, they climb to there rank mostly solo, very rare do they duo with someone, if your hard stuck silver that a matter of lacking Macro skills both for your champion and what to do on the rift imo.

just go on a training arc in flex queue. when your flex rank is the same as your solo rank go play some soloqueue you'll pop off hard after having to lose your shit in flex.

I am grinding a smurf and going to solo as a support main thru low Elo.

Letting community pick the champions I use in rotation.

Currently its Braum Rakan Blitzcrank Soraka Lulu Janna Taric Leona on the list of suggestions of "impossible to climb with"

Feel free to add to the list.
