Troll picks don't work. They're not fun, they simply ruin the game for your team. Stop doing it.

I get the mentality behind meme picks like teemo support. I really do. You want to play an unconventional support that your enemies dont expect in the hopes of pulling off a victory.

There's a reason why people pick ACTUAL support champions in games...its because they are good supports. They win more. The champions are designed around supporting the team. If you get assigned a support role, trolling with an unconventional pick is simply asking for your team to hate you. It may be fun for you because you are drunk and think it's hilarious to build support tank teemo bottom lane but for the rest of your team it makes them wish you uninstalled.

Meme picks don't work anymore. In any lane. The entire game is based around strong, consistent lane picks that have a distinct advantage in that lane. Be it levels, items, gold, etc. Meme picks simply ruin everyone's time. Back in season 1,2,3, etc, you could pick unconventional lane picks because there were so many item paths, champions had crazy base stats, and nobody was good at the game yet. Nowadays everyone knows how to play league. Everyone can play to a much higher standard than back in 2011, and you must pick actual champions designed for a lane.

In the past 500 normal games, i can count on 1 hand (i mean this absolutely unequivocally literally ((less than 5)) the times where a meme team has won a game. All of my success in games has been with a proper champion in each lane.

Im not even talking about weaker champions in a lane. If you pick a C tier mid laner such as Syndra, no harm no foul because it is an ACTUAL mid laner champion. If you pick rammus mid however because you're trying to be funny, THAT is a problem. It's basically an auto loss. Anyone with an iq above 120 can agree with this.

Ive played this game since launch. The game as it's designed right now is NOT designed around having fun with meme picks. You can have fun playing actual lane champions.

I have fun with "meme picks" Ever tried attack speed ivern? How about zoe support? Even Vi Adc/mid is fun (unless ur against syndra or taliyah) And I have had massive success on all of them (Got a penta on Vi adc a month or so ago)

Normal games are for having fun, and if people have fun on their off meta picks then whats wrong with that?

learn to play around said pick....while some supports may seem unconventional a lot of these "troll picks" can actually work fairly well, now im not saying do something stupid like nasus support... but to be honest, i think your just being unfair here, a lot of these people get forced into support and literally don't own support champs, and playing meta is the opposite of fun tbh, your basically just being a sheep and playing follow the leader

Explain my 12-4 record on Taric jungle in recent games then. Surely I'm trolling because Taric is meant to be a support and I'm building him as a fighter soloing barons at 20 minutes with 2.5 items while getting first blood almost every game because the only champion in the game who can 1v1 Taric at level 2 is Jax (counterstrike OP).

I mean, my Sona top did really before they nerfed it. And I have a 55% winrate with Ahri ADC in blind pick. I don’t think either of them are troll picks however. There’s always a reason I play them in that fashion. That’s the main difference between a troll pick, and an off meta pick. If you play Teemo support for teh luls and max move quick, it’s probably trolling. But if you play Teemo support because of insane trading power of using Q on the enemy ADC, and use mushrooms to disengage from the enemy bot lane, then it’s an off meta pick. I run Sona top because it’s a relatively slow and safe solo lane that allows her to abuse her early game harass and Klepto to rapidly scale into a one shotting team fight machine. I play Ahri ADC because of her great team fight mobility with R and her strong single target CC with E. My most effective strategy is to take lethal tempo and Sorcery, using absolute focus for better early damage and manaflow band for better lane mana sustain. You then trade by hitting Q and then landing E 1.5 seconds later on the ADC before attack several times and resetting to neutral. It’s a little weak early, but is exceptional late game when taking crit. I’m getting on a tangent so I’ll finish up.

TLDR; Troll picks are not okay, but off meta picks are. The difference is if thought and reason is put into the pick, and there is still intent to see the victory screen.

You're complaining about people playing off meta picks.... in normal games. Like where do you want them to take their fun picks? Ranked? ARAM where they can't choose the champ they want to try?

Have you even seen what wins games at pro play recently? OFF META STRATS WIN.

Traditional play doesn't because players have practice against it and know how it works.

Not many people know how to win vs Taric + Sona bot because they havent played vs it before.
