Interesting Morde buff idea

Since you're currently looking at due to DFG removal, I had an interesting and thematic idea to give him a bit of a nudge. Instead of just his spells and ult ghost generating shield, make it so ALL damage he deals generates it. Basic attacks, , , , all of it. It would give him quite a few more itemization options and fit his theme quite well without pushing him over the top.

Just want to point this out, but thornmail would cancel out 30% of the damage an adc does. Plus the 50% given by 100 armor after the reduction. This will make him into AP Armor tank.
