Dude don't listen to the buttkissers here on the boards. They literally support everything about the game. No the game is more garbage than before.

Honestly I would stay away. It's not that fun to play, the balancing is horrid (you think it couldn't get any worse, and it keeps getting worse!), and the meta is pretty much the same few OP champs that keep obliterating everything.

Nothing's really changed besides Riot keeps adding stupid stuff to the game. The game is worse now than it was in season 6-7.

The game is a good state, but you will see TONS of whining of old players claiming the "old LoL was better" (I played it since beta: that's a bunch of BS, nostalgia is really a bitch).

I'm optimistic things will improve this preseason, but preseason just started so it may be a bit up in the air.

I liked season 8 but they just released the preseason patch with a bunch of changes and a lot of ppl are whining because they lost their marks. You have a bit more toxic players (proportionally) too compared to like a couple of weeks ago. I'd say wait a couple more weeks, at least next patch. They'll release Nexus Blitz game mode soon as well and that should be a lot of fun. Hope it helped.

Things are very different. I'm quite enjoying it, none of my mains are op but they're close enough to balanced that I feel my skills can shine. Preseason hit today tho, and I haven't played yet due to work & classes, so it's possible the game has become the soul sucking un-fun day wrecker the boards sometimes claim it is in just a few shirt hours.

Tl,dr: imo it's worth a few games. Enough changes out there that you're probably gonna get rekt a bit before adjusting, but there's been some solidly good changes even if I'm not in favor of everything.

I have uninstalled league, and ill do my best to warn others in forums because i have wasted too much of my time trying to adapt and smartly play around impossible champion counters and strategies.I am level 129 and have been playing for years, so hear me out. League has very huge balance issues, community issues, and support issues.

The balancing between champions is horrible, they have nerfed the champions that don't need nerfing and constantly try to buff and balance the most played champions while the underplayed champions are left in the dust. Most people will pick the champions that can easily keep their lead in lane and dominate in late game. These champions are very annoying to play against and most likely, you wont kill them without a well coordinated gank. Once you get ahead in a game, not a lot can stop you except for very few champions that could poke you down hard. If you are smart you will likely abuse these champions and end up decimating your games every time, but you will be playing with plenty of players who main the same champion and can do even better so good luck with farming for 20-30 minutes.

The community has been more toxic than ever, people do not care about winning when they know the game will eat up 30-60 minutes of their time and they wont even have fun trying to duel or keep their lane OR come back from a loss(which you cant by the way, new patches made coming back nearly impossible with the bounty system being nerfed). Playing safe is the only thing you can really do when your not in the lead, and that might be ok, but what about those always picked champions that can easily harass you down to half hp with one combo? Oh and guess what, you will almost be guaranteed to have one in your lane!

This new patch also made it hell for ADC's. Once you die to your opponent, chances are they will overpower your lane with stronger trades and easy kills unless you can somehow call your jungler down to gank. That is if they are dumb enough to overextend for a long time(They aren't dumb). Eventually after 2 or 3 kills they can start to turret dive you and if you don't have any ability to get away, your pretty much screwed unless you run all the way back to your second turret. The assassins are way to overpowered now , and have almost no counters if they are very smart at playing. You might get lucky and find a noob player, but no, its mainly smart assassin mains and you will have a laning hell - no fun at all. If your thinking about maining one of these assassins, go ahead and join the one million players who are already good at it, and miss out on the variety of other champions like or or poor little . Yeah you can have friends or a premade team, but you know what? you will have a very rough time unless you play the 8 or so overplayed champions that usually end up winning their lane early and late game.

Now, if you think all of that is ok and you feel that you can tough through it, this last part might just crush your spirit. League of legends has a huge player base, and you should know that the people who work on dealing with reports wont have enough time to go through every report. To fix this, they raised the standards of what would be considered toxic behavior. Yep, you can go out there and say most of what you want and have the slightest chance of being restricted from chat. The automated machine that files chat reports doesn't focus on language that you use, but it does focus on how many players reported you. Yep if your a good player out there but you do something your teammates don't like and they report you multiple times, your very likely to get a restriction or even ban. It has happened many times and you could search up in forums people that got banned for the stupidest reasons. By the way most of the community is very toxic so your likely to get reported unless you play very very good. Go ahead and submit a ticket though if you do get falsely banned and watch riot take weeks to get back to you, if your lucky maybe in a couple hours. But make sure to read all the rules of ticket submitting, oh and make it perfectly clear on your explanation of why you were banned or we will not respond, oh and if you don't file this in the right section your ticket will be rejected and you must make another long explanation of your ban and why it was issued.

If you want to know what the rest of leagues problems are, you will have no problem finding plenty of discussions that target those areas. Find a better game, or better yet, just don't play pvp.
