Reworck Yorick Support

There probably have been discussions about this already on the boards but I haven't visited in a while. Back in the day (a few weeks ago) I was part of the, I would say "elite few" but I'm pretty sure we all sucked, group of people that played Yorick Supp. And true to the Shakespearean nerd that I am I kinda want to continue that occasionally. I haven't had a lot of time to play much league recently so I don't have a ton of play to base this off of so I was wondering how do other people rate Yorick in the bottom?

My thoughts are that the current highest strength/popularity ADCs are Jhin , Jinx , and MissFortune all of which have no escapes and would hate to be caught in his W. Conversely he would work better with a champion with an escape as he doesn't offer a lot of peel or protection.

As long as you land your E before summoning minions they wont farm the lane. This also works for R

Relic shield helps you still farm graves as well as his P counting minions that die around you not that you specifically have to kill them yourself.

Obviously you want to max R,Q, (and get an early sheen) then E but putting a couple extra levels in W rather important since there are twice as many people in bot lane to attack it to free the prisoner(s).

Buildwise I typically focused getting item 3401 early to help protect as well as rushing a item 3057 (eventually to be an item 3025 ), of course item 2049 , and the rest is pretty much situational tanky supp build.

ok bruh, when I played old yorick support i went with spell theives because you got all that free poke and needed the mana regen, I got 23 s+ games in a row. Current yorick just needs to use q kills to proc Spoils of War and then when you summon ghouls mark the enemy adc for max bullying.

New Yorick support actually doesn't want to max Q first, given that Relic Shield greatly assists with making graves with Q. No, you actually want to max W and then E first, because W gets more HP bars as it ranks up, making it tougher to kill. W is his best zoning tool for bottom lane, and can disrupt access to areas while also obviously being a great trap if you can catch people. Not only that, it operates as his peel, allowing you to psuedo snare enemies so your ADC can flee. E is also a slow, so this is why you max it next. It deals %HP so it works beautifully when Yorick isn't building sufficient damage, as it keeps him relevant in the role.

The biggest hurdle for Yorick as support is not his kit, but your teammates. You will always be called a troll for picking him, because unlike some other troll we know (Trundle), the Shepard has yet to be realized for his power in bot lane.

A small point to keep in mind, is that if you do not max E first the Cooldown on controlling your flock is very long, and you will be unable to poke often. While there may be some merit in maxing W first, if you are looking to setup engages E is going to be far more useful, and with picking up CDR first it will be frequent that you can attempt to start fights. By maxin W first you are basically playing a worse and harder to land hook on an enemy that some champs are just going to dash thru, like Lucian, Graves, Vayne, Tristana, Kalista, Caitlyn. . . And so on and so on.

I would prefer more frequent pokes on a champ like him. Also, because the ADC does not build health items the power of the minimum damage on E is quite high when maxed, you are effectively chunking them for 20% of their health every 8 seconds or less (depending on CDR). It is also easier to land a Wall after landing an E which can be done when they go to cs and are not standing in their minions.
