What is the definition of a Pocket Pick?

I believe it's almost like your secret weapon.. sort of.. if that makes sense to you?

Say you play a wide variety of mid mages, but your is a beast.. But you don't play him often (due to the fact you played that champ a lot in the past etc), and only use him when you really need that little extra.

you keep them in your back pocket for when you need to show off and pull out all of the stops.

i.e. you sit on them until they're needed.

the name pocket pick could also be a reference to underhanded card players pocketing cards like aces and such.

you pull it out when you've got your try-hard panties on.

oolong has his pocket pick ready to go while plar does not.

Pocket pick is a champion that you most feel comfortable on and can do well in most matchups regardless of the meta.

Froggen>Anivia is one of more well known pocket picks.

I expect it's used differently in different contexts.

In some cases it's functionally the same as a main, others might insist that it's a main that isn't currently meta, others still might say it's a secret pick that you don't actually play much (either keeping it as a special pick for extra important matches [more relevant with pros versus yolo queue] , or just because it's a specific counter). Probably some other possibilities.

It doesn't have to be different from a main. It can be though. It might be a champ you've practiced a bunch and do very well with, but you don't play it that much so it isn't your main in that sense, but it's still a pocket pick because for you it's a strong pick.
