How to not feed top-tier assassins in Bronze? Thanks!

I am a mid main, and I enjoy skillshot-based champions, so I loved playing during the tank meta, maining Vel'Koz. Now its the assassin meta, and the stores in mage-town have run out of cyanide pills, and I bought a truck load. I find that every single game against assassins, or assassin-like mages (especially Brand, oh man I hate him) I feed so hard, even when I go armguard route! I can poke them early to hell and win every trade, but the second they get their first item, they insta-kill me! How the hell do I prevent this from happening? I am being driven crazy right now! Thank you, to anyone who posts! See you in the rift! (except for Zed. I'm not inviting Zed mains to my hentai birthday party.)

Pick champions with strong counter-initiations. As Viktor, for example, forcing an assassin to fight you in the gravity field into Chaos Storm might turn their all in into your all in.

If you are looking for champs to play you can pick up Syndra. She is pretty hard to learn but the fact that she can just push enemy assassins away is useful. Against Zed you can take cleanse flash. After he ults you just cleanse it away. Galio is always fun because even building very tanky he does a lot of dmg and is very hard to kill, plus if they dive you just ult. Try not to push, find some videos on how to freeze lanes and practice vs bots. Live under tower, get the zhonyas, and don't try to kill an assassin after 6 unless all their abilities are down. During teamfights run from assassins even if it means you don't get to do dmg either. Overall just waveclear and pushes and freeze your lane as best you can

Cleanse can't remove a zed ult, because it's no cc or summonerspell

MB, know you can qss it, didn't realize it couldn't be cleansed. In that case get barrier, and buy a qss

A Zhonyas would be better, because qss doesn't build into an ap item

yes but zhonyas is super expensive and requires team backup to be effective. You should definitely still build it, however qss is super useful as well, and in more situations than zhonyas. Neither of these should be first items though as they are both weak by themselves.
