Person has a 74% loss ratio. I am wording it like that because the majority of the time they throw the game and it isn't even close. They are in silver. I have a 53.4% win ratio [after dealing with them] and I am also in silver... What's up with that rito? Is silver for free now? Name editted out to give them whatever dignity they have left.

silver 3 is the average if im not mistaken. thats the mmr where you start out unranked. if youre simply not losing more games than youre winning, you should get placed somewhere around there.
this is why i cant comprehend how people end up in bronze, and even b5.
i mean you must be playing on an ipad or something to end up down there.
kinda miss season 2, when everyone had to play himself up to bronze.

silver was always free
When you hit level 30 and do your placements, you have to basically fail really hard to not get put into silver. This has been a problem for a while now, the guy/girl isn't as good as the people they're playing against and with most likely.
it's also possible that they were duo'd with someone much better.

I won 6/10 of my provisionals ended up in bronze 3 ranked into silver got bored and am still here but 4/15 is enough to get in silver? So.... how is 6/10 not? Still questioning this. It's not like riot put me in silver to start this season.
Silver = Bronze, so yes.
I mean, it's not really that hard to rank into Bronze. You just have to be extremely terrible at the game, like me.
You gotta lose a full tier to get demoted from %.... trust me Gold 5 is even worse.
