The primary purpose for Blade is now to be another compelling lifesteal option for champions who care about basic attacking a lot.

Yeah I'm certain all the AA based bot laners who aren't being picked and aren't building bloodthirster because they don't last long enough in a fight to make use of it will be thrilled. No upfront heal anymore either wow I'm really considering this compelling option that does nothing to offset the fact that my autoattack range is also the range at which I am instantly killed.

champions who care about AAing a lot don't only include ADCs

With the prevalence of massive poke damage in bot, Lucian simply can’t get close enough to start the skirmishes he’s meant for

Anyone who thinks poke damage in bot lane is the problem with Lucian should try to land a 500 range auto in a teamfight and see what happens.

TL;DR - They made BoRK an ADC item and got rid of it as a bruiser item.
