Lee Sin is a Horrible Design Regardless of Win Rate

Win Rate is meaningless out of context. To use a crude analogy it is like Dick size. Sure it is a factor, but it is only one factor and no where near the most important factor. Pick Rate, Ban Rate, Win Rate of players with 50+ or 100+ games, Win Rate in short games vs long games; all of these things are more important

First off lets get a few facts straight: #1 Lee Sin is fun to play! #2 Lee Sin should continue to be fun to play. #3 Lee Sin's Win Rate is irrelevant because it is dragged down by bad players due to his insane pick rate. #4 Sejuani and Sion's Win Rates are equally irrelevant because of their dedicated fan bases and abyssmal pick rate. #5 Yes I am Silver trash, but I have been playing since Season 1 and spend an unhealthy amount of time analyzing video game design.

Lee Sin is a god awful design that stunts diversity. Lee Sin has every advantage you could ever want in an early game jungler. He has fast clears, no mana, good sustain, high mobility, easy escapes, good ganks pre six, an execute, a nuke knockback ultimate on a very short cool down. Lee Sin has no real weaknesses and very little counterplay. This is to be expected Lee Sin was released in 2011 when Riot's design decisions were suspect at best and all Melee Champions were huge balls of stats.

Lee Sin falls off late game, (though not to the degree his defenders would like to pretend) but the damage is already done, by being so overbearing in the early game and by being such a popular pick Lee Sin almost single handedly strangles diversity in the jungle pushing any jungler who can't gank and counter gank as early, or as often or any jungler is vulnerable to invades out the window.

Over the past two seasons Riot has been banging on about "Diversity" and designing new champions that have avoidable strengths and exploitable weaknesses. Sadly because Riot's Balance Team is biased towards "LCS Big Plays" Lee Sin, poster child for horrible design decisions gets to remain on the podium while Poppy gets deleted. Meanwhile Sejauni, Sion and Jungle Nautilus get left deep in the dumpster for months.

Here is what needs to be done: #1 Lee Sin needs a new niche, his current role is too broad. I'd make him into a mobile crowd control machine that sets up plays but requires his team to execute them. #2 If you want jungle diversity you need to do away with "hard counters" and cheese champions. If this means Olafing and reworking Lee Sin and Rengar so be it. #3 Riot If you want to make the game you claim you want, where every champion has a niche, you have to smooth out the power curves, Lee is WAY too strong early - mid game and a bit too weak late. Sejauni, Sion and Nautilus need minor increases to their clearing speed.

well, you wrote it in big bold text, so it has to be true

I would write it in small text but reading comprehension on these boards is grade school and below.

They tried doing that with his retune but met alot of opposition from fan base. http://boards.pbe.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/champions-gameplay-feedback/jHhmhlGe-lets-talk-about-lee-sin-retune i could understand why it takes away his cool factor and would reduce him to a xin with escapes.

It's just really hard to scale out his damage while making him a trick champion still.

I mean he has no counterplay but you can dodge his Q.

He is decently hard to play but let's ignore that for the sake of my bias argument

Trash thread.

OP, you're silver 3 where players don't even know how to press their advantages, so the fact that he falls off is actually extremely relevant since games drag on long enough down there that scaling champions will out class him once grouping up starts happening.

I recommend you stop complaining about lee, learn to actually dodge his q and not to not position like an idiot so that you can get ulted in to your team and getting shit on.

it's l2p.
