I recently just hit B1 (z0mg n00b) and I started off at 0LP. I lost 4 straight in a row and I still stayed at B1. I checked my MMR on op.gg and it said my MMR was below the B1 average, but still I managed to cling onto B1.
I took a look at the Ranked FAQ in the "Leagues" tab on the game client, and it said there was a safety net to cease "ladder anxiety" or something like that. How does this ladder work?
EDIT: Just won my first B1 game, +17LP, no demotion?!?!?
SnackieCakes1 votesWhen you first enter a new tier you have a shield of 4 or 5 games in which you cannot drop, despite being at 0 LP. That said, your MMR is still decreasing, meaning you'll see lower MMR gains and higher MMR losses later on.
TSM Hai1 votesBasically if you win a load of games, get into B1 for example, then are like "Z0MG AM B1, SO PR000OO0O000()()()()", and then you lose a bunch of games, you wont get punished for it. It will say "Ok, he probably just got too ahead of himself. He knows what hes doing now".
