about the sightstone upgrade options

I feel that the sightstone gold production item upgrades are never going to be worth buying. you are losing a lot of utility from the item actives and hp from ruby sightstone the twin shadows active the face active and the talisman active all seem too good to give up (along with the buffed ruby sightstone (100 hp and 10% item active cdr)). and when i play support and i'm getting to full build i don't know what to build since i've gotten all the items i need, (and usually just build a generic tank/ap item) so i don't think the pseudo-extra item slot is all that impactful

I guess it's all going to be personal choice. I like the actives too ut I also like the new sight stones for more variety

I can fit more in my build for my team. minus one active.

Imagine Eye of the Watchers ( item 3098 + item 2049 ) on Bard , it would let him for example roam nicely, still be able to place wards, and have more options for other items. Just my thoughts as well. You still get the passives of the Support Gold income items though. But you also get the Warding active of the Sightstone.

I say they are a win-win item in my eyes. But that's just my opinion as well. But going with: item 3401 / item 3092 / item 3069 & item 2045 could still be good though due to the new ITEM active cdr on Ruby Sightstone.

Either way, it caters to many play styles! Kinda like how Graves is now (truly) bringing a shotgun into League matches and other Marksman are getting themselves fleshed out better. Caitlyn is becoming a Zone Control Markswoman, if she gets someone with 50 Caliber net or her snap-trap she can (without waiting on passive stacks) get a Headshot on them at double range I think.

Imagine if that "pseudo-extra item slot" was a Rabadon's on an Annie, Karma or Morgana support.

Or Warmog on Tahm Kench and Soraka.

I imagine it will be nice for noobs like myself who always forgets to use the support item actives anyways but are good at remembering to use their sight stone. It does also free up an item slot for more damage or defense items for people who play supports that way.

You are losing HP from the ruby sightstone except when used with targons (I think the combined one with sightstone has more hp than FoTM? can't remember)...but lets be honest for most supports either that 100 hp is not going to be helping them that much or they would be using relic/targon/FoTM anyways.

I imagine ruby ss will mostly be selected for the 10% cd on the item actives anyways.
