On Trinity Force and Why the Changes Make it a Better Item Design-wise
trinity force is the ad spell blade item. its item identity would be something along the lines of weaving your spells and auto attack to maximize dps. and all of the changes really make it feel like that is what the item is supposed to do, as opposed to the current iteration where it just feels like a ball of assorted stats. -the cdr for all the spell blade items honestly makes me wonder why it wasn't always like that. cdr fits perfectly into what the item wants to do. -the mana increase also just fits with what the item want to do -the removal of the ap makes sense as it was a stat that felt like it was literally only there because sheen had ap on it because the item is supposed to be the ad spell blade item the ap just feels weird on it -the increase in crit chance/decrease in atk speed: so this seems to be the biggest beef people have with the change saying "its just there to make adc's better" but it feels like crit makes way more sense on the item than attack speed. trinity force as an item is much more about the burst its passive provides and the sustained damage part of it comes from the fact that the passive has a very shot cooldown now this means that attack speed doesnt really seem like the kind of stat it would want for that play style, its like building attack speed on an assassin, yeah it works, and its good, but its just feels kind of weird. now how is crit chance better? well it keeps with the item theme of burst, and dps as a product of that burst having a low cooldown.
whelp thats my take on it. tell me yours in the comments! : )
