W: Magic Leech

4 second CD, 50 mana

Empowers Sylas' next basic attack, granting it bonus range and causing to apply an inhibitor for up to 6/8/10/12/14 seconds.

The inhibitor prevents the target from dealing magic damage or applying crowd control effects.

The inhibitor can be gotten rid of early.

  • If it prevents a total of 100/150/200/250/300 (+0.2 AP) magic damage to champions, it will fade.
  • If the target would have applied a slow to a champion, the duration of the inhibitor will tick down X% faster for Y seconds, where X is the potency of the slow and Y is the duration of the slow.
  • If a hard CC effect is prevented on a champion, the duration of the CC is subtracted from the remaining duration of the inhibitor

Inhibitors cannot be applied to targets who already have one, and cannot be applied to targets on whom an inhibitor has faded in the last 20 seconds.

Each active inhibitor grants Sylas 5% spell vamp and causes Sylas to ignore 5% of magic damage taken.

E: Abscond/Abduct

Sylas stops, winds up, and throws his chains in a target direction. If a unit or wall is struck, Sylas wraps his chains around them, dealing 50/70/90/110/130 (+0.3 AP) magic damage and suppressing them for up to 0.75 seconds if they are an enemy.

Sylas can reactivate the ability, cancelling the suppression early in exchange for a bonus effect.

Self-recasting will pull Sylas to his target. Recasting on the target will pull Sylas to it.

Note: Chain range increased, cast point increased

Sylas ban 99%. This would be worse than Kassadin Q. Preventing a mage from dealing magic damage invalidates their kit completely.

Plus, since Sylas can steal their ultimate, it would be a complete shut down. Imagine taking Gragas's ult, "inhibiting" him, and Gragas ceases to be a champion for the duration of the ability. On a 4 second cooldown.

If you mean current Kassadin Q, no. What makes it strong is that it lets you trade with mages without taking anything in return. Not only does this ability not deal any damage, it's also bound to a melee attack.

If you mean old Kassadin Q, no. What made that so strong was that it made literally just impossible for a target to respond to Kassadin.

In your scenario... yeah I don't think that would work out the way you expect. First off, it's bound to a melee attack. It has extended range, but it is still melee. Stealing an ult can be done casually, but stopping the guy from casting spells isn't a thing. Second, he can't just inhibit his target. If he tries to just run up and W Gragas, Gragas is just gonna body slam and get off a full rotation. Sylas would need to land E first so he can attack before it happens. Third... of all champions you could choose for this, Gragas? The guy with four damaging nukes, two AOE stuns, and an AOE slow? Even if Sylas does inhibit Gragas, he'd only manage to block Grag's W. Fourth, you're not quite there with the CD. You use it, and then 4 seconds later you do it again... to a different guy. If you want to do it to the same guy again, you'll need to wait 20-34 seconds.

He means the KassaWIN Q of old. And the problem with this imo is your duration. Sure...windwall and Akali shroud exist, but lets be reasonable, this community fucking hates those too, they last too damn long and invalidate too much counterplay.

But in this case - they still have all their actual abilities and can lock you down, you're just invuln to magic damage from any target you mark. Neat in theory. But in practice, it'll bring a lot of the same frustrations as playing against these two. Or maybe it'd be better to compare him to Renekton - if he throws his combo, then he trades into any mage with no counterplay, because anything you throw at him to trade back is totally nullified...and the duration going up with level is honestly what makes it worse for me. That, and honestly the tradeoff between Kingslayer, and your new "this gives spellvamp and MR" is kind of shit in the way you've designed it. This meaning that picking Sylas with your new W against a mage is a pubstomp, but in teamfights or any fight not against a mage, he still gets swatted with no hope at all, which is his main issue right now.

If this were to be a thing, I'd set the nullify window much lower, I'd say no more than 2s, and make it a constant at all levels. Up the cd of the ability at lower levels. Keep your rule that the same guy can't be inhibited more than once every "x" seconds, and if you wanna give it power creep, make x" lower by level. This means if you get cc'd, or you overstay, that the counterplay is still wide open. It also means that in a teamfight, you get the most out of your 2nd part by spamming everyone.

I'd honestly change the second part to work more like Graves' True Grit - let it stack up to a cap and change the magic damage ignoring to 2% instead of 5% (e.g. 5 stacks...25% spellvamp and 10% blocked magic damage...this is plenty to work with.)

Lastly, since he's going to get shit on in teamfights still, even with this, half the cooldown of E if he pulls himself to an inhibited unit, proc the mark (consuming the inhibitor) and deal a little bonus damage. With the microstun from being hit with E, you have plenty of room in this case to wildly attack multiple enemies, stacking up your spellvamp as you go along. It means he'd be a lot more micro intensive, but it would equivocate to "stun lock this guy, or he'll eventually run away with the teamfight...oh, and dont 1v1 him as a magic damage unit" At least you can work with that...unlike literally "I cannot take damage from mages, ever."
