Why is runic echoes considered good on Udyr?

Title.

I heard that Udyr was best with the new Runic Echoes, but after trying it I have to say it is horrible on him. You do so little damage, it is ridiculous. For all the DPS you sacrifice by using RE instead of Sated Devourer you'd think that it has at least decent burst, but the unique passive (echo) actually does next to nothing in terms of damage (80 base damage +10% of your AP, on a champion that cannot afford to build a significant amount of AP).

The % movement speed is nice, but there are plenty of other ways to get it on Udyr so I just don't see how it is worth sacrificing all of your damage for an item that is slightly better early game and gives a bit of movement speed.

Hopefully you won't make the same mistake I did and won't try this horrible, horrible item when playing Udyr jungle.

Movement speed it provides to him ,makes him big menace early and mid game. While u need to stack devourer, you can apparently reach 500 movespeed easily with this new build and affect game early.

Of course it is good because of the added Ap ratio onto his (R) i'm not sure what other skills it helps but the 10% movement speed is really the main point of buying it!

But dev all day on udyr.

I'm sticking to Cinderhulk and Devourer based on the game since I'm not a fan of Runic Echoes on him.

However, Trick2G says that it works well on him and I'm willing to take him at his word since he knows the champion far better than I do. It doesn't mean I'll use it (since I don't have the same playstyle or experience), but I'll trust him when he says that it's good.
