I'm Willing to Sacrifice The Next Champion Release to Prioritise Fixes and Reworks for Old Champions

Ok so disclaimer. This isn't my post! In fact this is a 3 year old thread by Evil Jester. But I think it's as valid now as it was then, if not more so, so am re-posting it for 2018!

**I'm Willing to Sacrifice The Next Champion Release to Prioritise Fixes and Reworks for Old Champions Evil Jester (NA) submitted 3 years ago in Gameplay Hey all Evil Jester here, **

**Anywho I will be the first to defend Riot to anyone saying that they don't care what players want. After this thread has been posted there were many in support of Reworks and changes for our older champions that at the time we felt were becoming less relevant to the game as more new champions entered with new flashy skills, and sick plays, as well as newer abilities. Riot not only responded to it, but spent that last year (or more) making heavy changes and reworks for our old champions based on feedback to be more relevant with the kits of the newer released champions. All I can say is...... **

**Though some changes were better than others and I'm sure a lot of us have at least one change we weren't necessarily fond of, but the amount of time and effort put into this project I think is more than deserving of some well earned praise. League has come a long way in development and these updates have brought some welcomed changes to the game and our champions. **

**To the people who gave feedback and upvotes, thank you for the overwhelming support. And most of all thank you Riot Team for the awesome job you all have done on our champions. **

**Are you willing to sacrifice or delay the next new champion or big content release, in order to prioritise the reworks, and re-launches of old champions? **

Note: love the down votes but no one saying they want new over fixes. Think it through lol

I guess you missed the last champion roadmap. There you go:

As such, we will be slightly ramping down the amount of new champions we release in order to make sure every release is breaking the boundaries of the game. That said, we know it’s important to keep League modern and fresh, so we’ll be ramping up our VGU releases, which will also allow us to catch up on the amount of champions currently feeling neglected or outdated.

I did miss this but also this is talking about VGU releases in exchange for new champions, it's not talking about the champions that don't require a full VGU update, just a revert/mini-rework to fix mistakes made in the last year or two.

In a lot of the reworks done within this timeframe were done to work with a game that doesn't exist anymore, and a meta that died out even before runes reforged.

Take Aatrox for example. His mini-rework made him worse in the meta at the time, but with rune-reforged he is now an actual viable top laner with some pretty decent jungle play as well. A VGU was promised, and would be nice, but it is no longer as essential as it was last season.

Malzahar was reworked in 2016, and had a mini rework in 2017. In the first case it MIGHT have made sense, and he still had some carry potential for those that knew how to play him. Whereas the mini re-work in 2017 turned him into little the walking ult we now all know and hate.

Teemo is just a walking shroom machine who can blind for a bit with little else to offer

Elise just makes me want to cry...

It's also a question of priority. This post is asking for the PRIORITY to be on fixing old champions, not just a little extra attention for them.

Love for Nunu! And Corki! And Teemo!... And Mord... Then there's Annie. Oh, Aatrox! Yi also probably needs rework... And Ashe. Man Riot has a lot of work to do.

They'll probably start with reworking Ryze, tho.

Sweety, the next champion is a support. We haven't had one in a long time.

Besides, in the recent roadmap ( ? ) RITO confirmed they're slowing down on new champions and prioritizing reworks/VGUs.
