Why is Keane building FH and not IBG?

Genuine question, to my Silver eyes it seems like IBG would be better because it gives a Sheen proc and AP, two things FH doesn't have.

I try to learn all I can from watching LCS, but this is something I don't quite get.

My guess is his mindset is he is fed enough and has more then enough damage to deal with the threats he wants to deal with, so in order to stay alive longer while neutralizing two damage threats on their team, he builds the more defense and crippling frozen heart over IBG.

Heart is 450 gold cheaper, offers 40 more armor, and 10% more CDR. Heart also offers a 15% AS slow aura.

Heart is a considerably stronger defensive item and it's cheaper. IBG is more something that's 33% offense, 33% defense, and 33% utility.

If you just want defense, especially to tank and keep the rest of your team alive, Heart is a superior purchase in pretty much every sense.

So who is he playing?

Urgot

Thank yu.

Yeah I agree with FH. IBG just doesn't seem good on Urgot. Short auto range, but not short enough to get the full AoE, mostly wasted AP...

Fizz, if they are talking about the quarter finals vs Impulse.

Frozen Heart is more cost efficient and is more defensively based. IBG isn't really that good on many champions who could use the sheen proc effectively. Sheen proc-ing champions would rather get a Triforce as an offensive choice as it offers way more for only 800 more gold, and if they needed a defensive item, they would opt for a Randuins or FH. Particularly if you are talking about Urgot; he benefits much more from the CDR and Armor on FH. And he shouldn't be in range very often to use the Sheen. The only champions I see taking IBG over Triforce are peel focused champions such as Taric and tank Gragas. When building CDR they have low cooldowns and high mana costs, the frosty sheen proc compliments their CC and IBG gives them decent tank stats without wasting the 30 AP the item provides. Keep in mind that Frozen Mallet and IBG slows don't stack, so keep that in mind if you were thinking of building them both. IBG is a situational item that can provide more peel or allow your team to catch up to a target you have in AA range while providing a moderate boost in damage. FH is a better defensive item that is low cost and gives great stats.

FH is a full defensive item. And it is also one of the most cost efficient items in the entire game.

And if you are talking about the Urgot game, Urgots low AA range makes IBG not nearly as good.
