When can we start seeing more Equal opportunity?
When can we have orb of winter and odyn's veil in summoners rift? Shipping them across a sea can't be that hard.

I'm still wondering why we haven't seen Bloodthirster on Howling Abyss. Now that it no longer uses stacks, that map really needs another option for life steal. I never liked Sanguine Blade, so my only 2 options for life steal was Botrk or Hydra (if melee) and I guess on some champions Essence Reaver. I'm not sure how strong Orb would be on summoner's rift..but this is technically the best time to start trying things while the season is just starting.
Orb of Winter would be even stronger on the Rift, since it would be easier to proc the shield. Depending on the tweaks it would either be so strong that it's a must-buy or so weak that it's not worth the slot.
Different items are balanced for different maps, and not every item would be useful or balanced on every map. /thread

But we need items like them on summoners rift.
Why do we need them? Orb of winter only exists so that AP poke doesn't completely wreck a melee ARAM team, and isn't something at all necessary on summoner's rift, due to a greater volume of strategic options. Odyn's veil, I don't really know, but the idea for an MR+mana item can pretty much always be answered with "no, because Ryze."

You answered your own question. Why not let tanks have a pure magic resist item? Honestly I love thorn mail as a pure armor item, and would like to see the same ability to itemize against ap.
Saying I answered my own question by only quoting a section of my response is not an argument in your favor. Orb of winter ONLY exists because it is ONLY necessary in the volatile environment of ARAM, and is NOT necessary in the controlled environment of summoner's rift.
To elaborate, a melee champion on summoner's rift can use brush and the jungle and other tactical options not readily accessible on howling abyss, where there are some brushes, but the only real option without a pantheon ult is "run straight at them." Because of this fundamental gameplay difference between the maps, an item that is necessary on one map is absolutely not on another. Would it possibly be useful? Sure. But absolutely not necessary.

But you did honestly answer your own question. When sieging towers against a largely ap comp there isn't really a good option for magic resistance or health regen. Orb of winter has both.
Um. Spirit Visage.
Also, and I really hate repeating myself, so I hope it sinks in this time, Summoner's rift has many, MANY more tactical options open to counter heavy poke teams because howling abyss has one lane and summoner's rift has three lanes, four jungle quadrants, and two actual bases, each with their own healing platform. If you are against a poke heavy comp on summoner's rift and can't siege well, you have tons of potential win conditions outside of direct sieges, while on howling abyss, the only 2 options for literally the entire game are fight champions and push minion waves. The fundamental differences between the maps mean that certain items that make sense in the context of one map don't necessarily make sense in the context of another.

I heard you the first time, but to be honest I love repeating a point until someone gets it thought their head. In summoners rift, when sieging a tower. There are no more strategical options to counter a heavy poke team. 99% of teams I get refuse to split push because it isn't "meta" and I can't split push into 3 people while my team refuses to fight 4v2. Now the easy solution would allow people to siege and anti siege against magic champs by importing items like orb of winter.
Now if you could just listen to what is actually being said rather than being stubborn then we could move along. People like you are why this game is so stagnant.
Honestly there needs to be as many options to fight magic as there is to fight attack damage. There also needs to be better itemization across all roles and champions.
Okay, firstly, if you did understand what I was saying from the beginning, then you should have responded to it fully and completely instead of taking a tiny quote and saying I contradict myself when I clearly haven't when you look at the whole text. That's just common courtesy for any debate, online or otherwise.
Secondly, just because the alternate strategic options haven't worked out for you historically doesn't mean that they aren't A) available to you, or B) viable. I've won plenty of games by splitpushing, because I communicated with my team what I was doing and they were willing to follow up on the call. And then there's pick potential, jungle control, ambushes, etc. that ultimately lead to your team's victory if played correctly, and don't require you to keep trying the same direct frontal siege that seems to never work out for you.
Finally, I agree that itemization could stand to be spiced up a bit for most roles. Pretty much the only class I ever build situationally for is fighter, but everything else can pretty much always have a cookie cutter build, and that's not good for a competitive game. However, the best solution is not to copy/paste items from other maps onto summoner's rift or vice-versa because the different maps are balanced differently. It may be easier than building from the ground up, but it would most likely just lead to more items gathering dust in the store while champion builds remain virtually unchanged.

There is an option, one specific to SR. It doesn't give MR, but it does break sieges.
I love watching lines scatter as the turret fails.
