To the Proponents of Power Creep

Give me proof.

When I look at patch notes, I see weak and underplayed champions getting buffs and LCS and hated champions/Items getting nerfs.

When the season ends, yes, they take things up a notch but: a) Of course, whatever turns out strongest gets nerfed again. b) They don't randomly give everything higher base damage or scaling. They look at the game and ask: "How have people been playing the game and how do we enforce or diversify that?"

So really, why is it that when I currently die in lane, I know I got combo'd whereas when I used to die in lane, I know I didn't stop the champion from clicking a button?

Mobility is power. You can argue that champions have not gotten higher base damages or scalings, certainly, but you cannot argue that champions have not gotten more mobility. Here, I will show you champions who got more mobility from their reworks/buffs, a literal, indisputable example of mobility creep:

Fiora - Lunge CD reduced, can now be used without a target Ryze - 80 MS replaced by team wide teleport that can also pull minions Ahri - Gained a 60% MS buff on her Q while it's traveling Cassiopeia - Gained a scaling MS buff that allows her to move faster and buy more damage earlier Karma - Gained a team wide AOE speed boost to the tune of 60% at rank 5, which is a free Talisman of Ascension active Kassadin - Ultimate CD lowered to 2 seconds at rank 3, 1.2 seconds with 40% CDR Maokai - Targeted dash snare CD lowered to 9 seconds at max rank Olaf - Gained a 50/60/70% MS buff when moving towards champions, from nothing. They literally just added mobility to his kit MissFortune - Gained the ability to reactivate her MS passive with the push of a button Mordekaiser - Gained 75 MS when moving towards the target of his W, from no mobility Nidalee - Gained the Hunt mechanic, giving her MS when she moves towards someone she has trapped or hit with her Javelin Toss Poppy - Gained a 40% MS buff when her W is activated. I don't recall pre-rework Poppy's max W % speed but I'm pretty sure it was around 30% Nunu - Gained a 15% bonus MS buff whenever he kills a unit after Consuming an animal, from no benefit for Consuming an animal Quinn - Gained a 140% TOTAL MS buff, the most powerful MS buff in the entire game, from 80% MS while out of combat and 20% while in combat pre-rework Sion - Gained a global charge effect that covers a turret's worth of distance in 3 seconds, from no mobility Vladimir - Gained a 10% bonus MS on his 3rd Q from no bonus MS, and gained the ability to use summoners (Flash/Ghost) while untargetable in Sanguine Pool

There, that's power creep for you.

So it's another name for mobility creep? Okedoke.

Every single one of those picks got nerfed. Mobility in exchange for damage makes you more viable, not more powerful than your original self. It makes it harder for the enemy to focus you down and easier for you to get a better position.

I'd also like to point out that they lost their boots enchant. And that there are a monumental amount of slows in this game/current meta, which, by your logic would directly counteract power creep.

And let's be real here, you're stretching it with the Ryze ult, you can walk as fast as that lv 1 ult.

Wow, you could not be more wrong.

Nunu did not receive any nerfs. He got a damage buff in the same patch, to the tune of 1% of his maximum health as magic damage on every auto attack and Ice Ball after consuming a non-animal, non-elemental, from no damage buff for Consuming a non-animal, non-elemental.

Miss Fortune had her Strut moved to her W, and instead she gained a new passive that...gasp...increases her damage. She also gained a 120% critical strike ratio on her ultimate, from no critical strike ratio. She does way more damage than she used to.

Olaf received no changes to Ragnarok other than the MS buff. He lost no damage for it.

Sion gained a lot of AD scalings that made his builds more consistent. His damage is good now.

Poppy went from being unviable in lane to being an LCS pick. If you think she lost damage...well...you're not paying attention.

Nunu got indirect nerfs via Cinderhulk.

MF now has an ult, sure but she received damage nerfs elsewhere.

Olaf only got pushed out of the meta, true.

Sion and Poppy became viable LCS picks and got repeatedly nerfed for it. The old Poppy had insane damage wtf are you on? Only thing was, she'd be at half your CS to make up for it.
