Diamond players' mentalities are worse than that of Iron! - Change My Mind

4 games in a row, team gives up before we even get the chance to catch back up, jg dies twice at level 3? gg. Bot lane dies because they keep fighting at 0/3 + 0/2? jg diff, gg

Fyi I'm sitting D4 (check my match history on op.gg or something, since hitting diamond I've played 5 ranked games [1w/4l], before that I was winning easily) right now and it feels worse than what I can only imagine silver and below to be like.

How have you made it to diamond if you're mental is that bad?

Just sick of it tbh

You think that is bad, wait until you see d1-master players. "You picked something I don't like, gg open". Started soft inting when the game wasn't ending fast enough.

Proceeded to get this same player for the next two games, whom took it upon himself to int to "put my garbage ass where I belong". All that rage just for picking a champion that I had over a 60% win rate on, but wasn't meta.

Diamond players usually just assume that the enemies definitely know how to win if they get a slight lead.

Thing is, that's unreasonable to assume. Yeah, professional players might have that level of consistency, but not your slightly above average Joe.

Iron mentality in a nutshell.

me: "we just aced them, why are you backing instead of pushing objectives?"

iron: "who cares man i just wanna have some fun"

me : "But you are not even trying to win"

iron:"who cares man"

me: "how can you have fun by losing?"

iron:"who cares man"

Well especially right now the majority of diamond players have no business being in diamond at all which creates a toxic environment of long time diamond players and worse players being in diamond.

The non diamonds get frustrated obviously realizing they shouldnt be here with their 45-49% winrate but they can't demote for some reason because riot thinks demoting when you are bad is unhealthy or something.

Then you have the hardstucks who can't or don't want to improve so they just don't give a fuck and troll the shit out of you.

Oh trust me, most of us know all too well.

Mostly because there's a crap ton of diamond smurfs in gold and plat that are always spouting off how they're diamond on their main.

The biggest divas I've came across this season have been diamond players.

If anyone on the team doesn't follow exactly what they say, then they sit in the fountain, berating the team. If they're not stomping in high gold/low plat like they're in bronze, then they're going to AFK or hard throw then tell us all that they're diamond and/or link their op.gg after the loss.

It's really bizarre because I'm used to playing with/against diamond players in normals, and it's usually a pretty chill experience, but man, the ugly side of diamond is all about ranked only which sucks for everyone trying to climb. The funny thing is they're the exact type of players that they're trying to avoid on their main.

Honestly, I don't think you can avoid shitty mentalities, save for mid-gold elo. That's the one elo range I can remember not having absolutely crap mentalities (not considering skill).

If your elo is too low, everyone uses the "It's low elo. Nothing matters" cop out (which couldn't be further from the truth). If your elo's too high, even slight disadvantages or small rough patches has SOMEONE typing "15" somewhere. Mentality in solo queue is absolute ass, and the worst part is that I know people wouldn't behave this way if their shit attitude impact other people.

At Gold and below people usually don't make a fuss about it (well, it happens occasionally), because they usually assume that if someone is fed in the enemy team, he/she starts being cocky and will end up feeding you. Also at that elo people usually have poor objective control, so even a seriously underfed team can win the game. I remember I won a game, which ended up with the enemy team having twice as many kills than we did. At that

I don't know how it works in Plat and Diamond. I assume that people are more skilled there and if the enemy team gets any lead that early, that could also mean that coming back will be more difficult. At low elo it is only possible, because most players make a lot of mistakes and players can capitalize on those mistakes.

Pretty much Iron is the only division where nobody really cares. You have to be pretty bad and just not give a flip that you're bad to remain there. Lots of people that just want to have some fun end up there.

The problem is there are two kind of people in D4,

Those who want to keep climbing, and those who do not care anymore, either they just play 1 game a month to not decay, or they just play new champions, do not care about losing or winning,

The second kind is the most prevalent, and thus you are very likely to play with and against them.
