Why do people say zed is weak?

zed is not weak , he is perfectly fine , even "strong" (although he will prolly suck ass after they release stopwatch) the problem is that the role he is designed to kill , instead kills him in 2-3 autos. So he cant go anywhere near them but he can still do his job perfectly fine vs mages or some other types of non-right click champions.

Another major problem is that the damage dealt to shields during deathmark does not actuallly count toward deathmark , whether this is a game breaking glitch or intentional idk , but say zed ults an adc , then adc gets 80% of their hp in shields (bt supports locket etc) even if zed funnels all his dmg into that giant shield , the deathmark will pop for nothing because dmg dealt to shield does not count toward pop.

EDIT: more importantly , who the fuck is saying zed is "weak" did you just make that up? the entire boards right now is focused on fixing a bigger problem

he can go 10-0 in lane but in teamfights a single summoner spell and a lulu polymorph will make him utterly useless.

he has 1 combo to kill 1 person and if that one person is protected hes useless

His kit is too telegraphed and in this meta where you either burst the ADC instantly or it'll just never die, he fails because his ult requires 3 seconds and hitting most to all spells to work.

Whenever you talk about Zed, Talon is always the reference point and right now, Talon is much better than Zed at just about everything. More survivability, more mobility, more burst..

Coming from a Zed main, he has this insane mid game power spike, but then as time goes on and champs get tankier and supports get ardent amongst other items, he just stops killing like he does in mid game.

Zed might stomp his lane and get himself fed, but unless he can snowball the game and win early, he just has waayyy too many counters lategame. Guardian Angel, Zhonya, peel from teamates, shields from supports, flashing or jumping away from him, etc.

Zed is fine, the thing is 90% of his power lies in bullying enemy mage until they become completely irrelevant, and in current meta mages are irrelevnt to begin with, so there is little gain from picking Zed.

But in preseason, if Riot does some fixing of AP items as they said they would and leaves Duskblade untouched, Zed is bound to reach 80% banrate again.

Against mages with cc's, Zed is very bad. He has to dodge their cc with his R, flash, or W. Using either one of these skills makes him a lot more useless in fights. People complain that Zed is braindead and that all he does is press R. This is far from true. His R is only strong once Zed is very fed, around 10 kills. Plus, against champs with long ranged auto attacks, he gets denied a lot of cs. This makes it harder to get items. Once he gets at least 2-3 items, he starts to do decent damage. Zed also is quite squishy. Against ap champs, he has to build hexdrinker to take less damage. Building this decreases his damage even more than just building duskblade or youmuus. The fact that he is this weak but also requires a lot of skill to play well, is just stupid by the developers. Take LLStylish's word. He himself says zed is weak and needs some buffs. Zed is one of the weakest assassins in a lot of seasons/metas.

Zed is weak, in high elo and against opponents that understand his match up. He has little to no kill pressure until level 4. His W is on a lengthy CD. He can easily be poked out of lane by an experienced player. His entire kit is extremely telegraphed and is not very rewarding. Yes, Zed becomes able to one-shot if he is ahead. However, champions such as Irelia become 1v9 when they get ahead. Their durability allows them to survive cc, where as Zed dies. Furthermore, the champions like Irelia do enough damage to one-shot squishies. Additionally, those same champions are DPS, not burst. So where Zed only kills one champion and then runs away, Irelia can kill a whole team. Also, Zed is completely useless against armor and items like GA/Zhonyas. These are a few of the reasons that people from Riot, Faker, LL Stylish and others have called Zed weak, specifically in high elo. Someone have a good counter argument?
