I'm really interested into the current state of Karthus, I mean revive has been removed and I've not seen one in AGES, but neither have I seen any calls to buff him on the forum, is he in an OK state? I might play him since I like teamfight mages.
ZileanUltJesusOP1 voteshes is ok, his lane phase is pretty rough against anyone with a gapclose. Hes is basically free kills for popular mid laners like zed fizz leblanc akali, etc. Thats the reason he isnt played not necessarily that he is weak.
Xemnes Wolf1 votesI main karthus and against zed he's basically my **** in every game its so fun to just destroy a him. it's kinda rough but you just gotta feel out how to fight with fizz but other than that he's a slow burn mage champ and you can either be super aggro by farming and tagging your enemy but that wastes a lot of mana or you could be super passive by just farming with your q and staying at range. if you need a good build or one that i think works well, rush rod of ages with Morellonomicon and Ionian Boots of Lucidity and Archangel's Staff really good early game then for late game get deathcap hourglass and boom godlike

Hyper farming midlaners fell out of favor with the Jungle changes. Their less apt to take Jungle farm inbetween minnion wave cause the razor backs take longer to respawn and the Jungler is less apt to fork them over due to the smite buff.
Instead the Meta Favored Assassin and Play makers who could make effective use of roaming and ganking. But this is why Karthus is still fair, because his ult allows him to AFK gank, cause he can pressure other lanes with his ult, while remaining in mid lane farming.
Karthus is Mana Hungry though so you'll want Blue buff.
