Idea for improving League
Ok, so I have been thinking a lot about how to improve games and lower the amount of toxicity and negativity in games. I fully believe the most frustrating part of LoL is not having Lee miss 6 skillshots and somehow kick you back into his team or having Tryn spin through 14 of your turrets even though he's 1/12. Hell its's not even watching 4 teammates chase Singed around until their dropping from poison. I also don't think it's autofill or queue times or any of that.
I think the biggest issue and most frustrating aspect is being stuck in a game for a minimum of 20 minutes. On top of that, once the surrender option comes open, if you have those 2 diehards that refuse to surrender, you're still stuck. There's nothing you can do about it without the possibility of repercussion. That is fucking miserable. I have gotten so mad during some games not because I know we'll lose or I'm getting spam pinged or camped or anything. It's frustrating that I know it will last a minimum of 10 more minutes and there is no escape.
I know they are testing a 15 minute surrender option over on OCE, but I have another idea that I think will be better for everyone in the match. Allow a surrender vote starting at 10 minutes, but it must be completely unanimous. 5-0 in favor of surrendering. If it's 4-1, the game goes on. At 15 minutes, a 4-1 vote will end the game. At 20 minutes , a 3-2 vote will end the game. If the majority of the team wants to move on, why hold people hostage? There is absolutely no benefits if 3 people want out, and 2 people in, that the game continues.
I understand that when you sign up for a game, you're possibly committing to a match that can go an hour. Time isn't the problem, but forcing people to stick around and fester in a place they are having no fun, doesn't seem a healthy way to do it.
We don't need to increase punishments for afkers, and we don't need to reward teams that had an afker by giving them extra LP. We need to allow players the option to opt out of a shitty game on a unanimous/majority vote.
