Has Urgot been made viable?
With all the changes and "chaos" going around with the preseason, I tried out my favourite underrated character again, Urgot. With the changes to most of the AD items and the changes to masteries I figured that he might actually become viable. Now keep in mind going into this I'm only a Silver IV player and even though I've gotten a good K/D/A ratio out of him, I'm only at a 25% winrate.
I tried a few different Mastery setups, namely either going with Deathfire Touch or Thunderlord's Decree. The 18 in Ferocity typically ended up being a better option than the 18 in Cunning, as the burning damage ended up being a lot more effective with your E and the fact that I felt that 45% Cooldown reduction didn't make a noticable difference.
My build at the moment is still standard. I've always started Sapphire Crystal and a Refillable Potion. Later of course upgrading the Crystal into a Tear and selling the potion if I needed a little bit of gold to complete an item. After I complete Manamune I always tried going for a Black Cleaver, as the Cooldown reduction, chase and armor shred.
I feel like the real thing that brings Urgot into viabillity in the mid/end game is Death's Dance. It basically makes you a lot more sustained health wise, so you don't need to build Life steal elsewhere. The tailing 10% Cdr is usually completed with either a Trinity Force or a Spirit Visage, whatever I feel is needed more useful.
I'd like to know if other people might think he could be in a good spot right now, or if I'm just a little bit too excited about this.
