What Happen to Orianna

Seriously what did happen to Orianna? Iirc Orianna was a strong pick in S4, then she just disappear during S5 and the preseason. Did Riot gut her kit or something? Did she receive indirect nerfs? I really like to know.

Orianna actually hasn't recieved any balance changes other than base stats for about four years now. She's definitely still viable (and she was played a lot in season 5 in the pro scene), but although she still gets picked in the LCS as a safe blind midlaner, she's not dominant for a few reasons right now. First of all, she takes a fairly long time to get going, and in a more snowball-heavy meta, that can be a liability. The less-obvious thing is that the hard-engage tanks which once dominated the toplane and jungle and provided excellent vectors for the Ball have been at least partially displaced, first by juggernauts like Darius and Skarner and then by full-on carries like Fiora or Quinn. As such, especially in solo queue, it's harder and less safe to get the Ball into the middle of the enemy team.
