Sell boots or keep boots with enchants gone?

@full build are boots worth keeping or is it better to sell them for another item?

I guess they're better to keep if you need the tenacityitem 3111 or magic penitem 3020 since they're not very attainable

but in terms of item 3006 or item 3047 it seems like getting an armor or damage/as item would be stronger

I don't think giving up 45 flat movement speed is worth it in most circumstances, especially later in the game where positioning or getting places quickly is crucial.

generally you want the movespeed, but some adc's can get away with selling them for a pd or something

You were supposed to sell them even when they did have enchants on them.

have to disagree

  • the passives on boots are incredibly strong especially the tenacity on merc threads(it is only available through the boots elixir or masteries) and same sorc's and lucidity

  • that added to the old enchants list distortion which can literally win games being on the right champs like Alistar or a heavy split pusher like Jax or the red enchant which enhances adc kiting tremendously

they are easily worth keeping

Not if you can afford a full item in its place. At that point in the game it's 100% about who wins the next team fight so raw combat stats are the most important thing 90% of the time. You can only move as fast as the slowest member of your team because stepping away from the protection of your front line is surely a death sentence, so movement speed isn't a huge advantage, and a lot of items that are classified as have solid movement speed passives that offset part of the loss of movement speed anyways (Luden's Echo, Lichbane, Phantom Dancer or another zeal item, Righteous Glory...)

Most professional players only sell boots when they have a team who can lock down or everyone can sell them at the same time (except the support).

the reason for this is movement speed is a massive tactical advantage. you always want to be above 400.
