What's going on Riot? poor matchmaking, jungle changes backfiring, position rank sucking?

I feel like this season has been a huge dumpster fire. And I haven't seen Riot acknowledge this. Own up to it, fix it. Many top players have offered great advice on how this could be done...

All you need to do is implement it.

They still won't admit scuttle was a bad idea so forget them owning up to recent jungle changes. All you will hear is the doublespeak and lies, see below.

Jungle post 9.2

  • The XP changes seem to have put junglers on average at the intended levels by game time. While they can look large on paper, effect on total jungler XP hasn't been that dramatic given changes to XP scaling (not base), don't kick in immediately and junglers do get some other sources of XP.
  • We're seeing some junglers who rely on a strong power spike at 6 still doing fine, others struggling a bit. Need to look into those cases more.
  • Power changes for different types of jungler haven't been that large in most contexts. Really high MMR (high diamond and above) does stand out though, with the same patterns seen in average MMR but to significantly larger degrees. As you'd expect junglers who focus on heavy farming and getting ahead of the XP curve, particularly those who use Challenging Smite well, have lost out on the most power. Kha'Zix and Graves are good examples of that, both of whom we felt could do with a bit of a power down.

More thoughts plus probably some statistics to dig through to come, potentially next week. We don't have any systemic tuning planned for the jungle in 9.3. Will assess again during the 9.4 development cycle though, We have been looking at level 2 ganking,

all im seeing in the jungle right now is that one jungler gets invade, loses one maybe 2 camps and now its a 4v5 for the rest of the match beacuse the invaded jungler cant meaningfully participate in small or big fights being 2-3 levels and a half item down

It sucks so much when you try to play a tank jungler and the enemy invades and takes 2 camps. It’s already hard enough contesting scuttle into these this early game jungler meta. Because your behind people get toxic and go “gg no Ganks” because your a whole level below the support and have to get resources to catch up

They'll admit the changes didn't go over well right before the next preseason starts, then subsequently make the game even worse by not learning the lesson from the previous few trashcan seasons.

After the whole Season 8, what do you expect from this game and this company? Really :D

Please revert ranked!

ValiantKiller2/16/2019, 10:42:27 PM3 votes

i mean top lane doesn't worth much now unless you split pusher and it not a good thing for solo carry, game swing toward a better ADC and jungle in general now more than every just like season 7. I get alot of inting kids and rage afkers this days more than ever, matchmaking sucsk where bronze 1 could face gold 1 legit not to mention the position ranking is a bottleneck of climbing now and they won't admit they made mistakes so yah it endless loop of making game dead slowly.

MarkedOfKane2/17/2019, 12:04:10 AM3 votes

They wont revert it. Riot doesn't revert anything that takes a decent amount of work, no matter how badly its received.

Saianna2/17/2019, 2:21:52 PM3 votes

And I haven't seen Riot acknowledge this.

they hardly acknowledge anything. Give them few more years to acknowledge they are running this game lol

Zoukeeper2/17/2019, 7:49:19 PM2 votes

Has a single red acknowledged the matchmaking problem? I just lost my promos again and went against a smurfing ahri 2/3 games.

They are constantly changing everything, all the time, so often. Before there's time to fix an idea, or even judge the effect it's had on the game, a brand new idea/change/rework is being implemented that effects the game in some other way.

This constant change is what is frustrating me the most in league atm

I've been on boards for a very long time on multiple servers and accounts (rito doesn't like when ppl say truth and being called idiots) but I have never seen such a disgust from community like in season 8,9. What happened to motto "for gamers by gamers"?

RESET THE LADDER.

position rank is nice i think

Illabethe2/17/2019, 7:04:58 PM1 votes

Personally I like Position Ranking. Jungle is iffy. I'm still fine but it's not as fun to be competing with a duo lane for XP levels. It may be fairer though. Matchmaking isn't the problem. The players are. I have been on teams where everyone on my team is 60% Win rates, yet they all cluster feed, and yolo so hard they obviously have no real talent (They got to 60% abusing their champs and taking advantage of the fact that when action is fast, some players don't know how to react/make choices).

Until players actually care about their game, problems will persist.

Not sure about the ranked experience since we're still using the old one over on EUW, but gameplay-wise the game is currently in the best spot it has been in like two years. Next patch is looking very promising with the conqueror rework.
