Attack Speed+HP item idea

At the moment there are no items that offer attack speed and HP at the same time, and it has been that way since the removal of Ionic Spark. I think it's about time that fighter tanks got a bit of love over the standard AP tanks and AD bruisers, and this kind of item would fit the job description perfectly The build would work something like this (ALL NUMBERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE (DUH));

New item, Hammerfist Guantlets:

  • Recipe:

  • Stinger (1250 gold)

  • Giants belt (1000 gold)

  • +(750 gold)

  • total 3000 gold

  • Stats:

  • 400 health

  • 10% CDR

  • 30% AS

  • Valued at 2285 gold

  • UNIQUE Passive:

  • Hammering blows: Gain attack speed equal to (2.5% bonus HP)%

This item becomes gold efficient when the user has at least 953.3 bonus health, and its gold efficiency increases by 1% for every additional 40 bonus health the user has.

This item would be tailored to high health fighter/DPS tanks such as Aatrox DrMundo Nunu Olaf Shen Shyvana Skarner Trundle Udyr Volibear Warwick offering relatively weak stats to most champions who don't stack health (ADCs and Assassins), while allowing these relatively DPS centric tanks an item in their build that doesn't make them immediately squishy. This is a mid to late game oriented item since it scales off of bonus health, which makes it a poor early rush item in most cases. Getting this item 3rd or 4th would probably be optimal when ahead on these champs, and getting it as a final item would be good when behind. There is of course the risk of this item synergizing too well with Cinderhulk, in which case the bonus health to attack speed conversion ratio could be reduced to limit abuse cases.

I hope you all like this idea, Cheers!

I miss Ionic Spark...

Riot made it for Dominion, then exported it to Rift.

Then removed it from BOTH because ADCs didn't want to buy it =I

I still think bringing back Spark would be fun. Scale it down to Ruby+Dagger. Have it combine with a Giant's Belt to create a new incarnation of Frozen Mallet that applies a frosty nuke/slow every forth attack. All sorts of fun, right?

Their are a fair amount of AS Bruisers who would abuse that Item. Notably when paired with Cinderhulk. I'm thinking the likes of Olaf, Voli, or even Udyr, would be bonkers with that item.

Yup, which is why I pointed out that A) Numbers are subject to change, and B) If cinderhulk+HGs became broken, then the health to AS ratio could be nerfed to reduce abuse cases.

EDIT: That's also part of the reason I made it so gold inefficient by itself, the fact that you need nearly 1000 HP to break even makes it fair that it can then scale to roughly 140-150% gold efficiency if you get to late game with a cinderhulk. It could always be rebalanced to have higher base AS and lower HP-AS conversion to make it not scale as hard, but that opens up the risk of making it just another ADC item with defensive stats.

stinger already gets 40% as, so it can't be lower than that

Yes it can actually because the base health the item gives means you aren't ever losing stats due to the passive (you start with exactly 40% AS when you buy this item on its own). There are several other items that have worked like this before. it is simply a way of making the item start at a relatively gold inefficient spot and then scale as the game progresses to make it a more desirable late game item but not too strong for early game snowballing.
