Riot...Can we talk about the PBE for a second here?
To be exact can we talk about how it is a failure of a concept now?
What's the original concept of the PBE? to test content, iron it out for bugs and give new reworks/champions some initial balencing all behind an "invitation only" restriction
But all I see the PBE as is the PSV, the Private Skin Viewer.
Example 1:
(AKA You don't use it for bug testing)
You are seriously going to tell us that this champion was tested for bugs during his cycle in the PBE and you worked hard to fix them? Look, no offense to your testers and programmers but that is a load of bull, Azir was Alpha build levels of buggy, Spamming his E just drained all his mana, his soldiers didn't respond properly his ult was a mess, the Inf Shurima turret glitch you are SERIOUSLY expecting us to belive that you went through and you fixed the bugs before release? no from what I saw was you rushing to get a champion out in time for an event cause "Hey we can make bundles!", you know delays are a thing that exist right? would it of killed you to hold off on the Shurima event so Azir came out WITHOUT the number of bugs?
I mean for god's sake Illoai's recall is bugged to be a global sound! that could of been found out DAY ONE but you somehow didn't fix it DESPITE THAT!
Example 2:
(AKA You don't listen to feedback)
Uh boy this particular rework reaction isn't going away is it?
Look I get that thing's change, visions are missed and some champions just won't work unless they get a rework (
) But here's the thing, you DON'T just change it while sticking your fingers in your ears and release it.
Let me give you an example from another game, the game Space engineers added an update which added exploding cyberdogs into the beginning worlds (Think Minecraft creepers who explode at any time) but did Keen Software, the developers, ignore them and continued on? No they went ahead and made a few changes allowing players to disable them, they LISTENED they took in FEEDBACK something which from what we see you don't do.
When the Cass or Morde rework went through you refused to listen, when the Graves/Quinn rework and the warlord masteries were on the PBE you ignored those saying they were too strong (which they were, ungodly so) so I need to ask, what is the point in asking for feedback if you ignore it?
Am I asking you to look back on the reworks and talk with mains of those champions to get compromises? as a person who loved playing Sona pre-rework I would say yes but I think that ship has sailed till you decide to re-rework them.
Example 3: DYNAMIC QUE (AKA You don't stress test)
Dynamic que you hyped up as the next best thing the better way to play League you released it...aaannnddddd had to pull it for like 4-6 days cause it wasn't working right, ok question you invited a ton of people (myself included) to take part but tell me, how come you didn't MAKE US test it? I would imagine if you gave us ONLY dynamic que as an option it would of tested it, especially if the PBE accounts matched our public MMR.
This is the big thing, when something new comes out you say "Hey feel free to test this but don't worry you can do your normal thing, ok this is how it should of been
Hey guy's we're testing a new que, untill it's public you will always play this que Hey guy's X champion has a new skin to make sure it works correctly all other skins for this champ won't be selectable Hey guys this champion is coming out/getting a VU, for X days you will always have to have at least 1 in your game but we'll relax it after X time
This is meant to be a test environment not our own little walk in a clothing shop! it should be about results not advertising
And I know people will complain about that but guess what IT'S MEANT TO TEST SKINS, CHAMPIONS AND GAMEMODES SO THEY ARN'T BUGGED TO HELL ON RELASE IT IS NOT YOUR LITTLE CLOTHES SHOP
Use the PBE as it's meant to be instead of what none PBE players see it as, a place to preview skins, if not then why the hell is there?
and
