Please help me understand auto attack damage please

Death recap says attack damage is a percentage of a champions attack damage but lol wiki says attack damage directly increases a units auto attack damege.

Lol wiki is one of the most nonsensical and confusing sites ever and death recap is a bug nest..

Your basic attack damage is equal to your Attack Damage (unless you critically strike).

Death recap on the other hand is just showing you what part of the damage that killed you was caused by basic attacks.

For example, if it says:

Basic attack 300 (19% physical damage)

Then it means that basic attacks from that champion dealt 19% of the total damage that killed you.

Oh here we go again.... Death Recap.....

The LoL wiki is right. When you buy an attack damage item, your attack damage increases, basicaly giving you more powerful auto-attacks, and in sme cases, abilities (check the tooltip)

I have no idea what the death recap says but that is just wrong. The % it shows on the side of the flat damage means how much % of your HP that source of damage dealt to you. If that makes sense

Okay thanks, now I know. Bt - how do you know its right? ;)

But I remember death recap saying something like (I am not sure) Veigar or some other weak auto attacker killing/assisting me with 38% next to his autoattack damage which means he dealt 38% of my hp WITH AUTO ATTACK DAMAGE!!!!

Edit: wait i think i was the veigar who killed myself.....

Seriously don't trust Death Recap

It doesn't work right Sometimes champions deal damage to you with the summoner spell "Revive" (not even in the game anymore), with another champion's ability (saw a Sona that dealt 57% of my HP with Olaf's Undertow), and sometimes it doesn't even show the killer

And my name is Blueslifer, not Bluesilfer

The death recap also only goes so far back in time to calculate all those numbers and show their damage.

What I mean by that, is that if you took a fair bit of poke prior to a fight so you started the fight at 300 HP, there's a slight delay before a fight breaks out, and then you get killed in the fight, that 300HP will be treated as the baseline for calculating the percent damage dealt by each source. It doesn't always go off of your max HP. So in this instance, two autos from Veigar may have done 100 damage to you, and therefore show up as 33% on the recap.

It says "x% PHYSICAL damage", not "x% ATTACK damage". It means "x% of the HP you had 14 seconds ago, in the type of damage: physical, as opposed to magic or true". Attack damage is a stat, physical damage is a type of damage that is dealt by autoattacks and some abilities.

14 seconds? why 14 seconds??? shoudn't you have said "of your hp" :,(

Edit: now i understand. 14 seconds before u die. ah

Because it's the timer for assists. If you got damaged for 500 by A, 30 seconds pass, and B and C kill you, A won't get an assist and won't be listed in death recap (this second part unless there are bugs, which is VERY frequent)

Displayed attack damage is the amount of damage purely from auto attacks (no abilities, passives, or item damage) an enemy deals before the effects of damage reduction (armor, dorans shield, ninja tabi, etc) are taken into account.

How do you know this abt death recap? Thanks

Also just a thing, you don't need to put someone's name in biggies to send them a notification, * and # are nothing but formatting tools here. The "reply" button is already doing its job on its own.

I saw a pic of a Death Recap stating the enemies Flash was the killing blow, dealing 300 Magic damage. That shit is broken as hell.
